Just bought Splinter cell chaos Theory (PC)

Hmm this sounds quite good. I played the demo of SC1 on Xbox, I couldn't get the hang of it :( But I'm gonna try since these SC games really do look awesome fun

They are awesome :D

Finally got this game played sp for hours on hard (after 30 times going through the demo I am already a pro at CT). The versus mode is pretty tense and scary at times (very nice). But the co-op mode does not work. At all. If you even get the opportunity to join a game it freezes while trying to connect. Ubi better release a patch PRONTO or else heads will roll considering co-op is the main reason I bought CT and they hyped it up so much.

There is something different about the new SC, i don't like the way you can kill people with teh knife. I know in previous games you could kill people with teh rifle or pistol, but creaping up on them and knifing them in teh back or slitting there throats seems too much for me, probably sounds nannyish but i think it spoils the whole stealth aspect of the game. Havent played the demo yet so i don't know what its like when you do cut there throats but i think it would spoil it, need to find out. Apart from that it seems like a really cool game, i own both SC 1 & 2 and they are both very good.

Are you kidding me? How is sneaking up behind someone and killing them with the silent knife, too much? It makes the game so much better. Instead of doing the same attack each time, you can do like 4 at will. It makes for some good times. For example, want a quiet knock-out? Sufficate them a bit. Want to kill them, do the lethal grab move.

Frankly, I'm having tons of fun in this game. Each level takes so long to beat, which only makes it better. BUY THE GAME!

I just got this game today. I'm on the Displace level. I just interrogated an engineer near the start and he's like "Who're you?" and Sam replies "Harry Tuttle". Ahahahaha, that's the name of Robert De Niro's character in one of my favourite movies Brazil. Harry Tuttle was a CIA type person posing as a heating engineer.

Woooooot.

I'm kind of disappointed that there are so few levels though, only 10.
There's tons of great little moments, like when they make fun of the 3-alarm system from Splinter Cell:pT, or when you interrogate one guy and he thinks you're a ninja, it's all great
The small number of levels is really made up for in length and replayability with different paths and trying to get a 100%, and then there's co-op and multiplayer - there's a helluvan experience on that little disc

Are the controls still screwed up? I played Pandora Tomorrow and i was well confused... :( Space wasn't jump... Ctrl wasnt Crouch.. arrgh

/me throws keyboard out the window

I have a question about the game. How much does it differ from the demo aside from the fact that one is a retail version. Are there more graphical options? Is the performance better?

I don't see any new graphical options. (atleast for my video card) I find that the demo ran a bit better on my computer than the retail version does, but they still both run good. :) Also I like flashlights (weren't in the demo) and the CGI movies in between each level. :D

Heheh, I love this game so much - I just found another poke at a game. On the Kokubo Sosho level I interrogated one of the guards that has a tazer, and Sam asked him to give him any extra rounds for it. The guard replied: "Hey, it's not like you can shake me around and I'll drop ammo on the floor!"

;)

Options > Controls... change them.

I just finished one of the worst levels in the game...
The level with all the destroyed buildings and the helicopter drones. Totally sucked balls.

Once you realise there's no punishment for leaving dead bodies where you killed them or any real incentive to avoid setting off alarms you stop playing the game with the same degree of skill that you once did.
Dead bodies punishment - Enemies finding the bodies and being alerted.
Alarm punishment - Guards get more armour with each alarm.

Did he even play the game... I think 8 is around the score I would give the game anyway, or maybe 7.5.

ROFL. Dude I love this game.

Coop is da bomb. Played for 3 hours last night with a buddy on COOP. only ran into 1 bug(I was being dangled from the roof but a guard came and killed me while danging, my buddy could let go of the rope to come down and save me, ended up havving to restart the whole map D:.)

Tons o fun :D

This game is quite good, the versus is great and works great, but the co op just does not work. I managed to finally get into a game last night and we were able to play a whole 3 minutes before getting disconnected, not to mention those 3 minutes that I played were very laggy...

Since when was an 8 a low score?
well coz eurogamer are massive fanboys 4 sc,i expected them to give it a 9 or 10,i mean thy gave bia 9,also most reviews have given high 8s and 9s,they also said it just scraped a 8,its not a low score for me,i just thought they'd give it more but 8 seems right i guess

After reading that I expected something rushed off to meet a deadline, but no. I agree with most of what it says - even stuff I disagreed with before!

LOL! that review is quite the hilarious....i disagree with it all but still funny

Haha, what n00bs, they said the graphics are the same as PT's.

no i think they're serious in their strange little world, their all racists and anti-semites

:D

Found a funny thing in SC:CT which I thought I would share with you guys :p

In one of the missions, a woman tells you to open a casing to tap into the BIOS memory of a missle launcher. Sam replies 'I didnt bring my Crowbar'. The funny part is the woman says 'whatever, crowbars are for Geeky videogame characters'.
