Just discovered LOST.

(Spoilery post guyzz)

Suspect: I'm trustworthy!

Jack: Then who do you work for?

Cue pregnant pause with ominous music playing. Jack and Kate trade concerned looks. Cut to commercial.

Then they'll take the total stranger, completely disregarding past experience, back to the beach to mull around for some time while the Losties pepper them with a few questions once in a while to no avail.
Agreed, if anything is annoying me about this season it's this. Even when they find out that the new arrivals are after Ben, they don't effectively ask why or what that means for the survivors, etc. My suspension of disbelief, which has already been thoroughly molested and butt-skewered by Lost, took a solid hit on the chin there.

The balance was redressed a little when Locke stuck a hand grenade in the mouth of that mouthy prick and demanded some answers, though. That is exactly what every episode has made me want to do.

You do know they store jet fuel in the wings right?

Yeah but it wouldn't just spontaneously explode like that.

If there was enough explosive vapor in the right concentration air for that to happen instead of just catching fire... it would of blown up when the guy got sucked into the engine and caused that massive explosion right beside it. lol.

Besides... that wasn't even a full wing. It's like a tiny part of a wing, as if the rest of the wing section has already been completely removed elsewhere. It's just one skin surface of the wing it looks like.

I just thought it was all a little goofy, and explosions used for the sake of explosions. And that's fine... as I said before, I just thought it's hackneyed.

I had finished episode 3 and I still think the show is great so far. I'm trying to figure out what the **** is on the island with them, and why the hell was there a Polar Bear!?

Dude there's a whole other thread for Season 4, there are a couple of people in this thread on Seasons 1 and 2. Personally I'm waiting to start Season 4 until more are released.

Can you at least edit to tag that stuff?

All right, soz, but I figured other people had already come right out with the Dave thing so that this thread was now already spoilery ground. Tagged it anyway.

Very small spoilers
I found the hatch and monster plotline more interesting that what we have currently. Then the station exploded and the monster turned out to be a shitty puff of smoke that has all but disappeared except to kill the best character in the show and disappear again.

Agreed word for word, but less harshly, since I kind of like the monster idea and I still am enjoying the show.

I actually loved the black smoke reveal. I think it should probably be used more, though. The idea of hearing it somewhere in the jungle, but far, far out is something they have yet to do.

I'm at the first episode of season 3. LMAO at Sawyer figuring out how to get "rewarded". *Man they've been through so much. :(;(

Jacks tats episode is prolly the worst of the entire series..be warned. :dozey:

I don't find the image of the black smoke scary now that I have seen it, but the sound it makes and the destruction it causes still caught me off guard a hell of a lot in season 3.

I don't find it so much scary as "cool looking". The alarm sound it makes is something else though.

Little rant with some spoilers:

Lost (though I still enjoy it) has gotten a tad annoying because they keep bringing up new plot points while just forgetting about the old ones.
  • The hatch is the obvious one, but that was actually resolved so that's fine.
  • Monster is the other obvious one. This is what stopped them going all over the island originally, it's what made them not want to go into the jungle. Now it just seems to have buggered off and let them at peace, only coming back twice: To kill Eko and to show off the magic wall around the barracks.
  • The magic wall around the barracks has been forgotten.
  • The people and children that the Others captured from the people from the back of the plane have been forgotten.
  • The second island has been forgotten.
  • The fact that a crate with lots of supplies labbled as the DI was air-dropped onto the island even though it seems like the DI don't opperate there anymore.
  • The magic box has been forgotten.
  • The multiple other stations and the DI itself seem to have been forgotten.
  • Whatever experiments the Others were carrying out seem to have been forgotten (pregnancy stuff).

I doubt they're forgotten, they'll get tied together eventually.

I agree with the monster thing though. It's latest appearances have been lame.

Yeah that pisses me off too. Well if they honestly think we the viewers have forgotten about those things and they can just sweep them under the carpet, they've got another thing coming.

I doubt they're forgotten, they'll get tied together eventually.

I hope so. Or else :frown:

Not a single one of those has been forgotten.

  • The magic wall around the barracks has been forgotten.

  • There was a deleted scene with that in, actually. It's turned off though so does it make a difference?

[*]The people and children that the Others captured from the people from the back of the plane have been forgotten.

No, they were taken with the rest of the Others somewhere.

    [*]
The second island has been forgotten.

Just because it hasn't been seen again does not mean it has been forgotten. Storylines move forward, you know. Why would they need to go back to an abandoned Island?

[*]The fact that a crate with lots of supplies labbled as the DI was air-dropped onto the island even though it seems like the DI don't opperate there anymore.

That probably hasn't been forgotten either.

[*]The magic box has been forgotten.

I think you missed the point of the magic box and only one character heard that - Locke. He did not care for what Ben had to say.

[*]The multiple other stations and the DI itself seem to have been forgotten.

Two of them have been blown up. One is on another Island. The Barracks is being used by Locke's group. The Looking Glass served its purpose. The Pearl is useless.

Whatever experiments the Others were carrying out seem to have been forgotten (pregnancy stuff).

That's because it was Ben's project. The Others have been defeated; their leader captured. They aren't going to continue experiments are they?

It takes only a bit of common sense to see that it's just the storyline moving forward.

I don't find it so much scary as "cool looking". The alarm sound it makes is something else though.

I mean it was portrayed as something to be truely scared of, what with the pilot being ripped from the cockpit and then the sound it makes. To me at least. It does look good, and I very much enjoyed the scenes with it and Mr. Eko with the whole slides and images withn the smoke. Very interesting.

Season 4 worth watching? I heard its started to pick up again. Stopped watching around episode 17-19 of Season 3. Thought the story line got too ridicolous. Season 2 and 3 are very medicore compared to Season 1.

Definitely worth watching. Personally I don't like Season 1 too much, it was too slow with stupid characters (thank God, they are dead now) and with some boring flashbacks.

For the most part I found Season 3 to be better than Season 1. The writing was stronger. Season 4 has been the most consistent yet - very good stuff.

Yeah that pisses me off too. Well if they honestly think we the viewers have forgotten about those things and they can just sweep them under the carpet, they've got another thing coming.
Agreed. I'd be pissed if they didn't explain all of it.

And did they ever explain the "letters" in the hatch when the clock ran out?

Hieroglyphics weren't they? Also, I really wouldn't worry about them not answering everything. At this stage they don't actually have a choice.

IMO Season 3 is the best. :D Season 1 set you up for everything. The island, the people, and Dharma. The second season developed more on the previous season and introduced "Them". The third develops a lot on the "Others".
It's terrible to watch the trio waste away. You also realize there is no hope for these people. They are just lab rats under control of these cruel people. You want some form of revolution but they can't do it. ;( I always loved "Sawyer" for some reason. Even though he is a jerk, he is a smart sleaze ball.

DUDE! Sayid just totally tripped a guy up, then when the guy was on the ground, snapped his neck with his legs. His arms were tied up too! THAT IS SO ****ING SWEET! :D
Shocking ending to Season 3 though. I have a feeling they really are bad. I also feel that Jack will OD on his drugs. Quite a shame too because he is ending up like his father. Also I'm sorely dissapointed for Charlie. ;(;(
Off to Season 4 and I'm up to you guys now. :)

took you a whole 15ish days to get through all 3 seasons?! Man, that sounds way too much like me with certain shows :p

Hahaha yea I should actually be studying for mid-terms right now. I just watched like one or two every day and then like 5 every day on the weekends. They could make a fifth season if they really wanted to.

Yeh, I saw you snap that guys neck with that breakdancing thing you do with your legs, I think I'll hang back here...
