Just got my wisdom teeth pulled.

Very nice, my g/f ended up with another dry socket... so she is in some real pain. I feel bad for her because she did everything she was supposed to do to keep her mouth clean and such.

Mine were growing perfectly horizontally, and never attempted to come through the gums. No pain, the dentist just said they should come out. No prob - full on surgery. I remember being dizzy in the office after taking a valium (I'm a lightweight) and the next thing I know I'm at home on the couch with bloody cotton in my mouth. The roots had compressed and distorted because they had nowhere to go, but other than some soreness the first day, no problem. The stitches were scary when they came out, because I thought my gums would flap open.

oh god now i'm really scared about getting them pulled out lol..

i have to get 4 of them pulled out in 1 sitting!!! WTF!!?

Oh yeah, I forgot sometimes people only get a couple out at a time D:

I have to get all 4 of mine pulled in about 2 weeks and I'm definitely not looking forward to it ;(

how long did it take for you guys to feel marginally better?

I want to go to a concert 4 days after they're pulled but I don't know if I'll be feeling like shit or not.

Uh well, Hazar, it seems like when I got mine pulled the pain was more severe than most of my friends. Most people I know had their wisdom teeth pulled much earlier in life. Mine are quite set in and when I has just one pulled, I was in just gruesome pain for two days. I was unable to talk, eat, swallow... constant pain.

But you know, you might come out better. Like I said, I seem to be the odd case.

arrr

I've had quite a bit of other dental work done and I usually get over it pretty fast so I'm hoping this will be similar.

I'm guessing having all 4 at once taken out is worse than just one but not 4x as bad.

It's not bad. My operation for having 4 out was a while ago, and I'm all healed now. It hurts for a day or two, then you should be able to eat normal by the third or fourth day. Just be careful not to pucker your mouth, it's bad for it. If you're spitting something out, you have to keep your mouth straight. It makes you feel like a dolt, but eh. The worst part is cleaning out the areas in your gums with a little squirt syringe thing once the stitches dissolve.

The best part is when they put you under for the operation :D. You have this thing hooked up in the back of your hand, then they inject the stuff, and you feel it going up your arm and then it's like whoaaaa. Or that's how it went with me.

yay, a positive story D:

I haven't "gone under" so to speak very many times at all... only once or twice I think.

Yeah, yeah, I know my stories aren't much to speak of, but it really isn't bad. Just endure two days of the pain, then you'll be alright for the most part, just be careful. It will still feel like crap when you wake up for a while, but it gets better a short time after.

Read my post on the other page; I also had four teeth pulled. Worst thing I've ever gone through.

they willl never do this to me,I wont let them!

My four wisdom teeth have been removed this March. I'm telling you... I was pretty drugged up for at least one week. I watched about 10 movies and I can't recall the plot of each of them. I also did a codeine trip (about ten tablets of 30mg each) which was at the same time frightening and really psychedelic.

And I was also very swollen up and mostly in pain for two weeks.

Oh and I also swallowed one of my blood cloth and it got infected. To get it fixed, the dentist had to go into my hole repeatedly with a metal stick in order to get all of the crap/food/blood out of there. Then, he had to replace the blood cloth with something that tasted like clos de girofle. That hurt as hell.

EDIT: To answer your question Hazard, I thought I would have been able to go out after about three or four days, but, in my case, I was wrong. I just felt like shit for at least one week. I was medicated and really dizzy. When I didn't take the codeine, I could constantly feel my heartbeat in my face and it was just annoying and painful. It may be different for you though.

Join the club. Had mine pulled not too long ago, and they were long overdue. Four impacted wisdom teeth ftw.

I expected a lot worse. Pain wasn't too bad if I took the painkillers. Aside from having my face numb the whole first day andnot being able to eat good food or smoke for a while, it wasn't too bad. Minimal swelling too. I guess I'm superhuman.

Now it's just these damn sockets that are still filling up.

I think ill need to get mine removed soon. They're coming in pretty quickly now.

Why couldnt I have evolved to a state where I didnt grow these?

Jeez, you guys have some gruesome stories... at least Absinthe had an easy time of it. I've heard from a lot of people that they felt really sick with the strong painkillers they give you, but I felt fine.

Can you find it please?

I think it was called, "Just got my wisdom teeth pulled."

Feel free to send any unused oxycodone or hydrocodone to me
