Just passing the time, until doom3 launches

Hope you guys will enjoy this - did'nt take more than a few hours (3-4 total)

I've only made it in 1024 x 768 - color is coming, atleast that'll take me a while, and a bit closer to the release date

This has, btw been sent to the great guys @ Idsoftware - just hope it'll make its way through all the other fanboy spam they get :cheers:

Nice job!
A few comments though I'm sure you already see them:
His right hand is sort of a blob. Add a few lines for where fingers are seperated.
His left leg could use some shading and a tiny bit of detail.
I think his head is a little long too. But too late for that and it looks fine anyway.

Can't wait for color that ought to be a chalenge.

Your attention to detail is astonishing. There are the few minor quips that have been mentioned, but once the colour is added it should look much better.


My favorite part has got to be the teeth. They really stand out. Awsome stuff.

A T C/Punisher, hehe yeah tell me about it - there's a few things that stand out as a sore eye to me....really don't mind the hand since that was'nt really what i wanted to get your eyes attention on

I can see what you were trying to do, so the faded leg, blurred hand seem fine to me. I know its a hand and i know its a leg and seeing the rest of the creature I know how it would look, so would be extra work drawing them in when there's enough there already. Unless they look suitably different, in that case you would draw them in. But its not, so yeah makes sense.

I'd say it was more of a forced effect - since i quite frankly ran out of paper space.

I really actually want to add the missing part - dunno if that makes sense, obviously being cut off at the knees might not add to the scare factor for a HK

If i can do my magic trick - taping two pieces of paper together - i'll make sure the ppl who want it, gets the missing lower legs, and full detail hand

Otherwise i'm glad you actually see the effect i was going for, not very subtle tho....could work on that of course.

I wouldn't mind having colour. The fun thing about this is you can create multiple copies from your PC, and colour them however you want.

I see what The Dark Elf is getting at. less colour adds to the imagination and allows you to see details with a clear eye.

Ah yeah, its a taste thing - some want color, some won't, i can certainly see why you'd not want color. Since like you mentioned ATC, details might be lost to the eye.

3rd of aug is my birthday

and it looks much better without colour IMO.

and dont add detail to the lower part of the pic... i love the kind of sketchy feel

Colour is good, don't get me wrong. I just hope that you colour a copy instead of the original.

The original is a masterpiece that SHOULD NOT BE ALTERED. Seroiusly, it's very good. That's why I would hate to see you mess up on it. You have no idea the number of times I wanted to add colour to my drawings to "spice it up." I would almost always be disapointed.

I do want to see a coloured version for curiosity purposes, but colouring the original is not good.

I think the monster has too much of a smudged feel, but nonetheless, it's quite nice!

RosOne from the PlanetDoom forums, helped me out getting the "real" D3 logo mask....Should look somewhat better know, to those of you who wanted the orig. logo.

Btw if anyone wants it in a larger ratio, lemme know - the orig. drawing has been scanned at 300dpi - so its like 1980px X 2100px

To tell the truth, I liked your doom 3 logo more. Less obtrusive and distracting.
I can also say for fact that this surpasses every official Doom 3 concept I've seen in terms of quality.
