Karate Kid Trailer

Lame. So ****ing lame. There are so many things I want to rant about in that video but I'll just sum it up with LAME!

i used to like jackie chan, but now he's a hollywood clown

I thought it looked watchable at least, the actual karate kid isn't a pansy like in the originals for one thing.

If it doesn't have You're The Best Around in it...

^Oh god, I was thinking the same thing.
*EDIT*

OK, I think I kinda wanna see this.

The ending is the only part though. Radio playing "You're the Best Around" while he's trying to get the fly with the chopsticks, then flyswatters it? YES.

I can't help but smile when I watch the trailer. I want to hate it on principle, but it looks like a fun movie.

Although I didn't see one single crane kick. I know Jackie Chan knows crane style, he better teach it in the movie. If do right, no can defense!

What is it with Jackie Chan and these shitty children flicks? I thought he didn't like the American Film Market. I used to like the guy. I guess he reached his peak in the 90's.

As for this stupid movie.
It's not even Karate. It's Kung Fu. This shit is bound to bomb with the director of Pink Panther 2 at the helm.

Supposedly *potential minor spoiler alert* the kid does know karate, and tries to beat the local kids/bullies with it, but fails miserably. So they call him "the karate kid" as an insult. That is when he learns the true fighting power of kung fu. Or something like that.

Karate Kid - a movie about a kid learning KUNG FU.

Lovely.

Enough of your reasoned explanations.

Yeah, the misuse of the title was the first thing that caught my attention.

According to Wikipedia though;

Unlike the original 1984 movie, The Karate Kid, the 2010 remake does not feature the modern interpretation of karate, which is from Okinawa. Despite its title, the new film focuses on a boy learning kung fu in China. Chan has told interviewers that film cast members have been referring to the movie as The Kung Fu Kid and believes the film will only be called Karate Kid in America, and Kung Fu Kid in Asia

lol

And I thought the Karate Kid was a cheesy enough name lol.

Money man. It changes people you know.

Whatever man, it'll at least be as good as The Next Karate Kid.

Yeah I bet you all forgot about THAT one, didn't you?

Never even heard of it, I think I should be thankful for that.

Money man. It changes people you know.

I just know that he is a hypocrite. He criticized the US film market on numerous occasions in the past. He even said that he would stop starring in US produced flicks yet he continues to be in these shitty productions. Crap like this and that idiotic Spy movie that recently came out. All of these type of movies that he was in were critical and box office bombs.
All it does is tarnish his reputation. He is suffering from the "Eddie Murphy Children Flicks Syndrome".

Given I never really cared for the original actually this looks quite good :)

especially given the nature of movie remakes

Air China?

Chinese Martial Arts superior to Karate?

American's needing Chinese help?

People moving to China?

Can't you people see? Its Chinese propaganda!

You'll come out communist robots prepared to serve your new masters, and then numbers will have to kill you all... ;(

Don't be silly, this is just an entertaining popcorn flick for the oppressed proletariat, nothing to do with politics. Please, go and enjoy it and recommend it to your Korean friend as well.

In the depths of financial depression, only ONE movie has the answers, Karate Kid (watch now)

I saw the trailer for this before Alice and Wonderland yesterday and laughed my ass off the entire time it was playing. Another movie where the best use of Jackie Chan they can find is to make jokes about how he doesn't know English like a native speaker. Most generic trailer ever too. LIFE IS KUNG FU
