They never used to be, till maggie came to power. Now they're all dumb.
 
Nah politicians have always been dumb, everywhere, since the begining of time. The only smart politicians aren't real. Take the ever so famous, Churchill...he wasnt a real politician, he was a good leader and a no nonsense kind of guy.
 
This law is only really there to help combat the speedos. Stops them getting their evil grip on children.
 
Like Farrow said, Politicians have always been dumb. Not just the US or UK, but everywhere. It's sad too, because for quite some time the votes are being cast on the lesser of two evils than someone you geuinely want to vote for, or sometimes you're like "Well, this guys not the best, but he's better than the other guy." Another thing I do not understand is straight ticket voting.

Didn't you know you just voted for a man who's track record shows he's not going to keep his promises?

Anyway, yeah, that's a dumb set of laws.
 
I find it amazing that people who have done a serious offence in their life become polititians, whereas, people who obey the law get shitty jobs. Just goes to show that the world is FUBAR. We should see more scientists becoming world leaders, such as our hero Gordon Freeman

Noone can really say for sure what the world will be like in 100 years...in fact we can't even begin to guess, considering all the factors that go into it.

Sounds like it. Well, I'm just glad that I don't care! This is ridiculous! If they were actually enforcing this law I'd remark that the world really was getting closer to all those bad sci-fi movies and that 1984 seems to have arrived, albeit 21 years too late...and that the government seems intent on crushing indiviuality. As it is, I'm just going to give a metaphorical one-fingered salute to our illlustrious authority.

As you can guess, I'm one of the parties (not) affected by this legislation.

They said its not a law they will enforce unless its older people with the children...There really is nothing to complain about.

I can sort of understand it as a reaction to paedophilia, but it does seem a bit too far. Adolescence is a hard enough time for kids, without having to all of a sudden discover lots of things about their sexuality all at once. Besides, laws like this are not particularly enforceable and are often manipulated and used by controlling parents, etc.

And let's not get on this "Thank God For The Sane Laws of the US" boat because there are stupid laws all over the globe :)

Okay, so maths was never my strong point. If only I could dig out my '1001 bloody stupid laws' book. Due to the state structure in the US, a lot of states have developed some highly...indiviual...legislations.

Anyway, there I was, thinking that England had fairly liberal laws. Maybe I should move back to Scotland.
