Kleiner video has been hacked, picture inside

ok i changed all the stuff you guys said to but do i need to move it somewhere or sumthing?

In mine, the *'s appeared as .'s.

Anyway - move cursor to the G. Now just type over the top KLEINERS_LAB.EXE"}"

You'll be typing over some of the .s (or *s as the case may be).

Save and viola!

By the way, you'll want to make a backup of your cache file before you start in case you mess up so you won't have to re-download it if you mess up. (Took me 3 tries.)

Thats ok, there is extra space after it, so it's not gona overwrite anything. (dont forget the "2" part though)
 
Look closely at it, Its a dead scanner, From the back, hehe

Do NOT insert anything. It will not be read as the correct file if you add data. You need to overwrite old data.

Just check my previous post. You need to overwrite some useless next line statements to get it to work.
 
Just got it out of hex, gonna be posting the 56k download later tonight when I can find a host.
 
so they let that space for us to replace it... heh
i don't think they'll be upset with us doing this when they actually want us to...

In my cache file I don't have this line

HL2-G-Man.exe"***}***"2"*

I have this one

hl2-g-man.exe

I can't overwrite it or I will overwrite important information. Anyone have any clue whats going on?
 
OK, I'm seeding the torrent now. I only have 40KB/s upload though, so remember to keep the window open even after you've finished downloading.

Just download the torrent if you cant edit the file correctly.
 
those * represent the characters you see anyway just do this
Highlight the G in G-man.exe then start typing this:

Kleiners_Lab.exe"

(INCLUDE THE QUOTE!)
Make sure you make a backup though!
 
lol your right man, the second strider quickly dissappears in all the smoke, i love how all the computers and desk stuff really does fly off all over the place, after the blast.

Ok, I'm really sorry to be such a pest but it just isn't working at all. Could someone send me a picture or something? I really don't have any idea what's going wrong.
 
Does anyone have a link for this yet? I'd like to host it on OzForces file server however I can not upload it (128k upload cap ;( )
 
it requires common sense peeps, mad easy to do.

just replace g-man with kleiners_lab without deleting the 2...easy as that.
 
yes, but some of us are behind firewalls that can't access steam or bit torrent!! link please link!!!!
 
whats the best hex editor? Mine sais that the file cannot be edited when I try to type it over :(
 
i have been trying to get my video to work for a LONG time now.. ive tried every damn way.. >.< im just gonna hope the BT file goes through ok

Did you forget to shutdown steam?
 
Hmm, I'm behind a firewall (2 actually) and I can access Steam and Bittorrent just fine.

You are downloading so slow because there are only 2 or 3 seeds right now. Once people start to finish, your speed will increase. Just be patient.
 
i edited it now do i just oppen steam and it should work?
 
People, please leave the torrent window open once it finishes downloading. If no one seeds the file, it might not complete for current downloaders... like me. :p
 
Anyways, I over wrote like I was supposed to.... Now, the media screen comes uo with only one video to select, and when i double click it, it BRIEFLY shows a window saying, "Preparing to lauch file..." and then it just stops there.

Do I not have the file or something? My gcache.gcf is 409MB.
 
im jst gonna view that video when it is in my menu, i dont want to mess any thing up, besides...it's good to wait!

the cache file stays the same size either way, sounds like you didnt hex it properly.
