Kleiner video has been hacked, picture inside

Alright... how am I supposed to Hex this, I go into my Hex Editor.. then what, someone please simplify this... must see HL 2 now.
 
Ok, I got it to work. Thank you for all your help guys, it is an awesome video! Xtasy, you have to make sure that you add an extra " to the end of te stuff you added in but don't overwrite the "2". Thanks again to all thosee who helped me!
 
I dont see G-Man.exe in my gcache thing, just a jumble of symbols everywhere, someone help.
 
peaked at 115 kB/s .. now at 20 kB/s .... need more seeders!! please don't close the window once you finish the download.. leave it open if you don't need the bandwidth for anything important.
 
filerush.com has 3 of our own seeders, 24/7. :)

although not really worth starting over if you already jumped on the original torrent..
 
Using Hex editor for me takes like no time at all. Good Stuff...

Still trying to get the video to work though...
 
HOW ABOUT OMLETTE RELEASES THE MOVIES....send it to people let it spread around youll be a hero lol cmon!
 
Anyone got a patch maker? Just make 2 patches, one to goto to the lab and one to go back to g-man. BTW people its not that hard to do it manually.
 
Skeeze are you using a Hex editor? I would suggest you get Axe 3 and use the search function for G-man.

to
HL2-Kleiners_Lab.exe"}"2"

It is 82.4MB.

The *'s can also be represented by squares, .'s, or other symbols.
 
if everything goes well (eg bittorrent dosent stop, and my internet dosent crash), i'll host the kleiner video on my site that has a mad 3 GB of bandwith.

Someone just upload the .gcf file somewhere and let people download it...or just attach it to your post...

I cant get it to work right now since mine doesnt say

for some reason...So just somone upload the hex file and everyone can download that instead of the whole video or other way..

you actually think someone is gonna upload a 400MB file for you because you cant hex edit? heh.

c`mon someone even posted a picture of what it should look like after editing it, a toddler could figure it out, just make the two look the same, its about as easy as square blocks goes in square hole, round block goes in round hole.

My file does not say the same thing as some others have been posting..!

Some people's says

HL2-G-Man.exe"***}***"2"*

And other's says just

hl2-g-man.exe

without the *'s or }'s...

and I am sorry that I said the upload thing..I never looked at the actual file size..My fault.


*Edit* I actually finally figured it out..There are 2 places in the hex editor that says "hl2-g-man.exe" So if anyone else is still having trouble..

Search for media/movies/ then edit that g-man.exe not the other.

And btw I am still sorry for not being as l33t as you...

the original explanation you were told to "search for 'video' and then a little forward from there you'll see blah blah blah" so if you had, then you wouldnt have had a problem :)
 
why would someone upload their huge cache file, when multiple people have already posted links to the kleiner video for us?
 
A question, that torrent file, is it the movie? If it is, what do I need to view it?
 
Download BitTorrent (search on kazaa) and after you've installed it, click on the link. Download the file and open it with bittorrent (just click the file on your disk). The download of the movie will start then. I just downloaded an dit works :p
 
and when you finish downloading, leave your the torrent file open, so other people can get it for you. it's only fair to upload as much as you downloaded.

Anyone know if this last "Kleiner"-movie will be released tonight, or will they continue with two days between the movies?

I dont have Steam so I cant extract it, and I for sure dont want that program either lol


Too bad by the way that you cant pause, or step forward frame by frame, in the movies....cause you cant do that, right?
 
Just noticed that in the beginning of the lab-movie, the camera zooms in on Alyx (after 30 seconds or so)....making me think its rather a cut-scene than actual gameplay....but who cares, maybe the scene isn't even from the game I dont know......I just didn't notice this before.

They used the same zoom in the Source tech demo when they showed the fire and the dude made out of water.

Wow, thats the most silly unrealistic stupid feature I've ever heard of in a game if that is the case.
No binoculars of sniper-scopes or anything....no no you just zoom with your eyes lol
Or did you mean its just like a demo or cheat-function, not actually there when you play? (I sure hope thats the case lol)
 
i have a question about this video. Lets say gordon didnt knock over that computer would Kleiner have been able to get the "thing" started? i mean there not scripted sequences. o well just a thought
 
that gcache file is 400mb both movies take about 150mb...we could watch the other movie by changing the name../u guys thinking what im thinking?
 
I imagine the zoom is merely something used in the demo.
Even if it isn't I wouldn't mind it at all though. BF42 has a slight zoom that you can use to focus on a target and it greatly adds to the players awareness in his environment. This makes up for having to view it through a computer screen.
 
I expect they add the zoom function for the demo movie and it isn't present in the game proper.

I'm sure the demos are full of special cases set up for the E3 show.

Yes it might be ok, if its while holding a weapon....like in Vietcong for example (does BF1942 let you zoom even without a weapon in your hand?)

Anyway, it must be a fast zoom, not a slowly camera-like zooming like in this movie....thats why I also think its just some demo-function...or its just a cut-scene and after a while you start controling him yourself or something...
 
If the cache file is 400mb and all the movies we've found are 198mb then there must be more movies inside. :cool:
 
I just got the file off torrent, but I can't run it, so what do I do with the file to turn it into a bink or whatever?
 
It comes out at 7pm EST people , its pretty damn close to be messing with Hex editors ect.
