wut gamez shud I get? Most major releases that came out on PC I already have. Thinking about GTA, but then, its coming out on PC real soon so idunno 'bout that. I only have fable 2 right now though.

Also, add me as your (best)friend. krynn72 is mah tag.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the 360 backwards compatiable? If so check out jet grind radio future, the original dreamcast version was killer and Ive heard good things about the sequel. Also panzer dragoon, and the obvious GOW..etc.

Depends on what you feel like playing. What kind of games do you like?

Anything really. Except for guitar hero/rockband games.

sports, racing, rpg, shooters (though I have most fps games on PC already, I may get gears 2 when it drops in price, because i wasnt too impressed with the first one), adventure, platformer, etc.

Anyone know if there was a decent difference between madden 09 and 08? I know there usually isnt, but I figure theres at least a tiny chance they did something new.

09 is COMPLETELY better than 08. Get it.

Need for Speed Undercover or Most Wanted. Oh, Assassins Creed.

Damn, was hoping I could save 40 bucks, but if its that much better then ill go for it. If you're wrong, then so help me god you are going to pay. And I've already got AC for PC. I'd forgotten about the Need for speed games though, i'll have to look into them again.

Why am I not seeing Mass Effect here!

Halo 3 was actually really fun on co-op. I mean I hated halos my entire life! Halo 1 was too booring to even play trough the first map, same with Halo 2, but somehow Halo 3 hit me.

Dead Rising, you can get it for like 10$ I guess. The controlls are shit and stiff but it's still fun :p

Soul Calibur 4, really fun with friends, if you like fighting games.

Burnouts.

Carcassone from Live arcade, again a game great with friends.

Theres some for a start :p

Soul Calibur 4 is dick. It somehow managed to be worse than SC2 even though it came after the godliness that was SC3. Enjoy your DLC Vader and CAS unlocks that are already in the game, only $4.99. Also, you want more fighting styles? Suck a dick you'll make all your characters off the standard characters' templates and like it. Enjoy having five slots full of Mitsurugi and Taki clones.

Also, you like Hwang Seong-gyeong, who's been in every iteration of the game since Soul Edge? Well **** you, Yun-seong is good enough for you.

Please enjoy our new guest characters who are just CAS of standard characters, and Star Wars characters for no good reason.

Also, hope you like fatalities.

Banjo-Kazooie N&B is worth a look.
Gears of War 2 is a must-have. Trumps the first one in every way.

NFS: Most Wanted and/or Carbon.
Sonic Unleashed
Orange Box (if you don't already have it)
Halo(s)

Don't get Sonic Unleashed. All recent Sonic games fail and fail horribly.

Get Burnout Paradise, cool game with great graphics and is updated regularly with new features.

Tales of Vesperia is an excellent RPG.

Hmm, never heard of it. Looked at some screenshots and it looks like it probably plays like final fantasy. Meh. I like rpgs, but ive had enough of that style gameplay to hold me over for a lifetime.

It doesn't play anything like Final Fantasy. Where FF games are turn based, Tales games have always had an action-based combat system. You control one character and the AI handles the others. You can switch between characters on the fly.

Well, I'll see if I can rent it at blockbuster or something. I'll have to try it before I shell out the real cash. Unless its already dirt cheap. *googles*

Yeah, i'll rent it. Man, one thing I already hate about console life is that I'll usually have to pay more for used 360 games than I do for new PC games.

Dead Rising for dirt cheap

Condemned 2

Get Condemned and every other multiplatform for PC

GOW and 2, I actually liked 1 a little more in spite of its problems, it had a definite survival horror feel that 2 replaced with stupid epic setpieces involving ridiculously large enemies and Brumaks everywhere.

Halos are alright but GOW is definitely better, you should play them soon

I haven't had a chance to play 2; would you say it's a good game? I don't mind ridiculous-sized bosses.

I liked the first GoW but I think it's more of a 'rent' than a 'buy.' Friend and I completed it in a few hours on coop, and I didn't find the multiplayer engaging.

Gears of War 2 is worth a play-through at least, single player is longer and (I think) a bit more difficult. If that's all you're going to do, hire it for a couple nights, otherwise the multiplayer makes it worthy of a purchase. Horde mode's fun for a while, probably moreso if you have 3 or 4 friends who play it.

Need for Speed Undercover or Most Wanted. Oh, Assassins Creed.
Most Wanted is great, probably my favourite NFS game, it got the balance between racing and modding just right. Custimisation was fun and heaps varied but completely optional, like it should be. Can't speak for Carbon as I didn't try it, but all of the reviews have been taking a giant dump on Undercover, so I'd be weary.

Other games to try...

Assassin's Creed is worth it if you can find it relatively cheap. Very very fun to start with but gets repetitious.

Halo 3 and CoD 4 are both fun multiplayer shooters with decent campaigns and (probably) still a decent amount of people playing online.

Bioshock is a must-get, if you didn't already play it on PC. It has it's faults, but the story alone made it worth my money.

Gears 1... eh, give it a rent if you intend on getting Gears 2 maybe. Not necessary for plot purposes, but it's short and it'll help you get into the 'groove' of playing a bit better. That said Gears 2 is a little more intuitive and user-friendly, so it probably wouldn't hurt to skip 1 altogether... yeah, this paragraph was completely unnecessary...

Yeah. S'about all I can think of right at the mo.

Oh, avoid Mirror's Edge. :)

Mirror's Edge isnt even worth a rental? I always figured it would be repetitive and annoying (said so in one of the threads about it here, before release) but thought it would probably be worth a rental.

Your mileage may vary, but even on a one-night rental my reaction was basically "**** this shit" for everything after the demo level. Put it down after about 3 hours playtime. Granted I'm not a very patient fellow, but death in the game seemed unusually frustrating, and occurred far too frequently.

Edit - ^ Talkin' bout Mirror's Edge, btw.

Racing: Burnout Revenge or Paradise. Forza 2 (for simulation like GT). Grid for all out awesome fun.

RPG: Fable 2. Fallout 3. Bioshock.

Shooters: Gears 2 is the closest to perfection for an fps. Cod 4/World At War

If your a racing game fan then Project Gotham Racing 3 is good game but the racing lacks a spark IMO.

Also the Tony Hawk games are pretty good but still can get a little tedious.

Best of luck finding some games you like :)

Dead Rising is a blast and cheap as chips these days. Halo 3 is great fun and GoW2 is better than the original in every way.

Make sure you check out the HD version of Rez. It really is ****ing godly and, given the right av setup, induces mutliple brain orgasms.

Off the top of my head:

Battlefield: Bad Company
Call of Duty 4
Crackdown
Dead Space
Fable 2
Gears of War 2
Rez HD
Saint's Row 2
Schizoid (provided you have a friend to play with, otherwise EYE STRAIN OH ****)
The Darkness
Viva Pinata

Agreed. I hated the game but some how co-op managed to squeeze out a bit of fun. Although I only recomend renting it because the rest of the game is crap.

Dead Rising, you can get it for like 10$ I guess. The controlls are shit and stiff but it's still fun :p

Totally this. Dead Rising can be slow/hard to start up but once you get into it you can have one helluva time with it.

Edit: Crackdown is a blast too. If you don't have Gears on the "pee-sea" then try that , not sure about the second one though because I don't have that at the moment.

Yea at least one skating game. :p

I'm maybe gonna get an xbox over christmas and the games I plan to buy (at some point) are below:

- GTAIV
- Fable II
- Fallout 3
- Tomb Raider Underworld
- Far Cry 2
- Bioshock
- CoD 4
- Left 4 Dead

Note that I don't have a decent gaming computer right now and, if I do buy an xbox then I won't for a long time. The bottom four games are all ones I'd rather have on a PC, and I may end up just playing them on my brother's computer. Note that if Tomb Raider seems and odd choice I can vouch for the previous games of the 'rebooted' series being really bloody good.

WHY THE **** DO YOU PEOPLE BUY CONSOLES WITHOUT KNOWING WHAT GAMES TO BUY? FFS

Here, I'll help you out: http://letmegooglethatforyou.com/?q=List+of+xbox+360+games

I bought the PS3 just assuming it would get all the good stuff and free online. Its still getting the good stuff just not exclusively, which doesnt mean a damn to me.

and Darkside, in case you havent gotten it yet, heres how the game progression for Gears 2 goes.

Brumaks
Worm that can eat cities
more Brumaks
Reavers that can carry fortresses on their backs
more Brumaks
Super Brumak

not so much the size but more desensitization to the enormous enemies, got old while the first one had a major event for the Brumak. Like i said more action for this game and didnt focus on the others style very much

F*ck Tony Hawk, get Skate 2. It's LEAGUES beyond any tony hawk game.

Only games worth any amount of money for 360 that are not better on PC are Rockband, Tales of Vesperia, and Star Ocean 4. And you don't want Rockband so that leaves you with the RPG's that are pretty hit and miss with people so I couldn't even put my stamp of aproval on those because I wouldn't want to get yelled at when you hate either of them for any number of legit reasons.

I guess what I'm really trying to say is grats on wasting your money since you already have a gaming PC and clearly didn't have anything in mind you were buying it for!
