Sandtraps

The whole "don't step on the sand" thing eventually got on my nerves. However, the ending, with the antlions under your command, was excellent and redeemed the chapter. Other than that, Half-life 2 was perfect.

I also chose Sandtraps, because it was very tedious trying not to step on the sand.

Dark Energy.....cuz after that the game ends :(

Canals

I remember the "don't step on the sand" part where you had to jump. I said f'ck it and just ran thru the entire part. Yes, I got hurt but I made it thru in 4 times less amount of time. Plus the camp gave you meds

Sandtraps. It was okay, but not up to par with the rest of the game.

Every single level in the game o_o.

Nah im joshing ya. I'd say Sandtraps because i guess thats the least favorite. All the levels were pretty enjoyable.

I really hate the chapter Black Mesa East... It only spans 2 parts... and you'll do nothing else but play with teh gravity gun.

Last part of ravenholme, when I started getting tired of those screaming running zombies.

but you get a lot of story there, though....you find out about Eli, Mossman, and Alyx and the relationships between them, the 7 Day War, Breen, etc.

and come on, you know you loved playing with the grav gun.

i really can't think of any part i didn't enjoy. maybe the part where the combine starts shooting at you was my least favorite, because i got stuck in the trainyard and was too stupid to jump over the bent part in the fence.

Follow Freeman - the NPCs kept getting me killed, getting killed or getting in my way.

Maybe I'm the only one who liked sandtraps. My 2nd time through the game I ran all the way, skipping the houses and everything. :)

Canals. God those manhacks are annoying! I wish I had the gravity gun. Crowbaring them takes forever! :(

I dunno. I would say sandtraps. rest of the game was fine. I wish manhacks were NARFED, I hate those buggers.

Follow freeman..the start bit, sandtraps was a awesome imo, but the antlion guard bit i ran straight across...aheh

On a side note, I think you should be able to grab the man hacks with the grav gun... :D

I don't remember what the chapters are called.. But I didn't like the driving and boat parts... Even though those two chapter were long(TOO LONG)

Water Hazard and Sandtraps. They were too long..and I got this feeling of loneliness and depression when I played them.

Weird.

On a side note, I think you should be able to grab the man hacks with the grav gun..
You can.

Ravenholm. I was really hyped after the first five chapters... then I was in a rather cliched setting with hoardes of annoying zombies and headcrabs. It was still pretty great, but It was a low point.

After a few replays, i've come to dislike the Follow Freeman chapter a little as well. The Friendly AI is great, but it's still not great enough.

its gota be ravenholm and the very first part of sandtraps, where you have to drive between the upturned cars, but first have to get out and push them outa the way with the manipulator. i only dont like it cos there are lots of the fast zombies...other than that i liked sandtraps. but ravenholm sucks....again fast zombies. i just dont like them

Gotta say the sandtraps were the most boring... But I was impressed with the whole thing! o.k. It's time to go through it the secon time!!!

um....i think you should go use a grav gun and try to grab one, you might discover something neato

It would be at the prison cells. Maybe its bcoz of the way how the level looked.

The actual fighting Combine part in Nova Prospekt annoyed me. I almost wish they had kept the place deserted and infested with Zombies. Although admittedly Ravenholm had already done zombies to death. I think NP could have benefitted from a new enemy.

As for Santraps, I loved it :afro: I loved building makeshift bridges from crates and boards and planks and barrels. I actually did that rather than just running through. If I go on the level again soon I will build a bridge and take a screenshot.

sandtraps cuz you had to jump from place to place, shooting all those antlions along the way whenever you touched the sand. whoop dee f**king doo i hated those guys. maybe next time i should run through it like some of you did :D

I got tired of Ravenholm halfway through. It`s not really that fun. And I especially hate the mines section with the infinite spawning fast headcrabs.

I don't like RavenHolm much, or the beginning of Sandtraps, but that's because I'm a wuss.

Yeah, thanks. Got HL2 the day after Boxing day and completed it on the 3rd, probably wrecked my eyes but... it's a sacrifice I'm prepared to make.

Let me be the first to vote for Highway 17 being the worst. If I wanted a bad driving game with an unresponsive dune buggy, I would have purchased one in the $9.99 bin at Wal-Mart. Actually, I thought sandtraps was fine--and very innovative. If you know what you are doing, it does not take that long to get through.

ravenholm, scared the shit outta me. yes im a pussy in that game

yeah.
don't get me wrong tho...i really liked the Follow Freeman chapter for alot of other things...just that it got annoying when NPC's got in the way.. :|

I had to go to a LAN center to play through HL2 so I played it this way.

1) In two sessions I got though to the end of Nova Prospekt

2) When I came back the 3rd time my savegames had been erased so I started back from the beggining, and finished it in two 7-hour sittings :)D ).

First time around I got a little bored towards the end of Ravenholm but what really was a bummer for me was the whole sandtraps through Nova Prospekt section where I was getting really really tired.

Second time around Ravenholm was better since I knew most of the way around, Sandtraps I went through like a breeze and Nova Prospekt proved only a bit repetitive.

In the end the weakest part of the game has to be its pacing around the highway17 through nova prospekt area. Things tend to get tedious and/or repetitive. The same must be said for Ravenholm. However, it must be said that most of the time I was playing for many many hours at a time, at night, and I was either really high, pretty high or de-buzzing ... so that really messes up my notion of time.

Anyways, the two strongest parts of the game are definitly the beggining (right up to water hazard) and from Our Benefactors on. My jaw litterally dropped to the floor for many minutes when I entered the Citadel pit and then the Citadel itself. The scale of it was just beyong anythign I had ever seen on a computer screen. Yar!

This was too long lol sorry for my mad ramblings.

Anticitizen 1 or Follow Freeman.
I don't know which is which.
The one without Barney is the one I don't like.

In fact, I don't like 'Our Benefactors' and 'Dark Energy' all that much. Yes, the super Gravity Gun is good but after a while you long for the old weapons too.

I hated Sandtraps so much that I could eat those motherf***ing Antlions alive!!!! :( They are a real pain in the butt!!!

Who ever designed Ravenholm must have been up all night drinkin cause that level sucks! I was very happy to be out of that town. I still have I think two chapters to go and these last few are amazing. So much action, and so good of visuals...I love it! I cant wait to get into the citidel, it is so massive once you get close to it!

Ya man, being stoned while playing this game is key. If your high enough you will feel like your actually there haha. Ilove it but then once it starts wearing off you cant take a break to smoke some more hahaha
