I love this game. It uses the touch and second screens so well. The combat is a little weak but I think that the puzzle elements are among the best in the series. This does not feel at all like a rehash of a previous game on the DS (I've played them all bar LoZ, AoL, WW, TP and the FS games). The boss battles are great too. The one with the invisible boss was a very very nice used of the second screen.

I agree completely. The controls were great and I never thought they were gimmicky or anything at any point. The quest itself was great too, though A Link to the Past is still my favorite Zelda to date.

I'm 100% behind Yahtzee on PH. The whole "lets go back to the first temple againandagainandagainandagain to stealth around in a restrictive time limit" utterly sucked.

A competent enough game, but really trips over itself.

I became a real Zelda fan after playing Twilight Princess and I was going to get a DS just for this. I'm very sceptical about it now, because of Zero Punctuation.

Seriously???

You really should not use Yahtzee as your end-all be-al basis for a game purchase. He's hilarious, yes, but he's usually overly critical of most every game he reviews..PH included. I view him as entertainment, only. IMO, I thought his review of PH was his worst...basically where his schtick got a bit annoying.

The vast majority of reviews are extremely positive about this game. No game is perfect, and PH has it's shortcomings, but it's excelent.

And about buying a DS for this game, they now have a cool Zelda based gold DS out. If I didn't already have 2 I would scoop one up.

The returning to the first dungeon thing never bothered me in the least.

Well, I trust him more than any other professional reviewer, despite the fact that he doesn't seem to take his job seriously. I generally don't nitpick, so I don't think that returning to that dungeon is what changed my mind... it was the general tone of the interview. To say the truth, Yahtzee seems to think that whatever Zelda games had to offer, they've already have and they need to move on. I'm not sure I quite share his sentiments.

Anyway, I'll probably get a DS in the future; it's just that I won't get one right now. In general, a Zelda game is a Zelda game and I doubt I'd find this one lacking. Actually, even though I've yet to play all the games in the series, it's only the Adventures of Link that has disappointed me, so far.

I've got to ask, though: How does it compare to other Zelda games?

PS: About the Zelda-themed DS: Yes, I'm aware of it. I've drooled over it.
PPS: By the way, this is not the first time Yahtzee changed my mind about a game. He had the same effect for Super Paper Mario. I was so hyped about that game after watching the gameplay videos and playing through the original N64 Paper Mario.

I should point out that reviews never sway my perception of a game, I played PH before it was reviewed at the escapist.

I'm saying that one particular factor of dire gameplay was what I shared with Yahtzee's review.

- I'm a big Zelda fan as it is.
