Life and Death Situations

fine, i'll use simple terms.

moppe, you accused me of of not being able to change my opinion, and yet you have a severe problem to do that yourself, expecially after 6 pages of evidence i've so kindly provided. i would also like to point out that opinions are ideas, beliefs or convieved notions of certain facets of reality, in this case macintosh computers. i then go on to skillfully and tentatively insult you when you suggested that i was "unable to realise that i was unable to change my opinion"

finishing my statement with a 'back-on-track' recollection of past times

Why the hell can't you realise that you just won't change your ****ing oppinion.

I think all the "special forces" are getting to your head moppe... you need some help.

I'm sorry, but I've been very very busy these last days getting back to my old life and I'm tired, didn't sleep anything last night.
I don't care if someone on the internet won't belive me.

First, I'm sorry. Reasons stated above.
But secondly, where didn't I change my oppinion? Please, don't bring that Mac-thread back up. When someone encounters me with a problem, I creates the same problem for them.
But right now, in this disscusion I fail to find the problem?
And alot of people here do this alot worse then both you and me, therefore don't take everything I said personally, it was to the forums in general.

No, but moppe sireously man I have no problem believing you, my opinion there is a 50 50 chance that you are telling the truth, but if you have any evidence that you were in teh special forces or something, then could you post it, I mean I have seen stranger things on these forums, but it would be cool if we had a real spec ops among us.

I was almost being left alone in the deserts of Northern Kenya, without any that spoke english in hundres of kilometres.

What kind of proof do you need? I'm not allowed to take pictures.

Well moppe I have actually no idea, maybe you can tell us something that only a special forces would know, or if you're a special forces maybe something about real guns and how they compare to the cs ones, hell I don't know. If you don't show, well no matter I won't flame you, but if you think of something you can always pm me.

I nearlly shot my finger off one time. I was shooting targets with my dad and some of his friends. We were just about to stop and I was finishing up a pistol clip. Well, I took a couple of shots then it went click click like it was empty. I was kinda turning the gun around when I pulled the trigger for no reason at all. It nearly hit my fingers.

Some of you would say that this isn't life or death, but I wouldn't have been able to play HL2!!!

(about the whole moppe in the specs thing. On the internet you can never tell what is true, so I'll give him the benifet off the doubt and belive him. Even though hes a mac user :p )

lol your not allowed to take pictures of your SF patch? but you can tell us all you are Special forces? hmm

here is my death story.. wait.. i dont have one.

i've got many life and death situations, but none of them are very dramatic! mostly with cars and stuff concerning speed (skiing,...)

i'm a swordsmith, and once i was filing my new katana, but i've put the sword in the vice really carelessly (aimed twowards me), and while filing suddenly my file sliped of the surface and i went falling directly on the swords tip (the end of the blade), fortunately i was wearing thick clothes so it didnt go in very deep! but i've learned a lesson that time, "neved do what i've just did" :rolling: :E :E

Who gives a **** whether he's lying or not? Innocent until proven guilty, and I don't think any of us really have a right to 'pry'. Try to view it as no more than it was intended - a story, and just get on with the thread.

I haven't really had a life or death experience. A few times I walked infront of traffic but they always sounded the horn in time for me to get out of the way :)

I was once going tubing in oregon, I think around bakersfield on a river that ran by the town there. A popular tubing spot. The lower part was rather calm, but we went up to the more rapids area of it, and got on our tubes. It was nice for a while, then it got rough. At one point we got out, and then back on at a different spot. I was about eight or nine I think, and put the tube in the water and tried hopping on but slipped and fell into the water.

I wasn't wearing a life jacket, and the current pulled me under and down along the river fast and furious, preventing me from keeping my head up out of the water. I struggled around frantically and managed to finally grab onto an overhanging bush and hold myself there until my far older cousin was able to swim out and rescue me. Was scary as hell, could have easily drowned.

Oh yeah, I almost drowned a couple times too. Wasn't extremely close, just running out of breath in deep water and sinking a ways.

· One of my friends died from leukemia when I was six.
· While walking along the edge of the sidewalk in Colorado I slipped off the edge and missed the front of a speeding bus by less than a foot (and the mirror went a couple of inches above my head).

The former was my first experience with death of any kind... and the latter was the first time that I realized it could happen to me. There are more, but those were the important ones.

My first real experience with death was probably when Grandpa died from a stroke. We were with him in the hospital the day before (I think) and what looked like a dove came and sat on the window sil for a while. He was a WWII fighter pilot over the Pacific earlier in life, but when the war ended he became a minister. He was a really cool guy, so it was a hard time for the whole family (except for my younger brother, who hadn't grasped the concept of death).

When i was 5 i fell out of a taxi in copenhagen, my mom told me i was hanging on to the handle of the car for 10 secs, with the car doing 80 kmh... (teach ya to play with the locks).

When i was 9, i fell 5 meters straight down, head first into cement...hospital for 4 weeks. Still got neck probs lol.

Teenager.. well young and stupid..played alot of chicken when drunk, out in the highways....me not in a car..(strange how stupid one can be, when the heart is broken).

Played russian roulet with a friends gun...20 sec´s and 3 clicks later, i discovered it had a bullet in it... (yeah i know im not that smart lol).

Dunno if im gonna tell my kids about this when they grow up, either they will try it out, or lose all respect for the old man.

And oh yeah real death things... I lost my twins 3 years ago.. Kinda knocks you down for awhile (understatement intendet), a friend asked me once, how do you get over such a thing, i said you dont, the memory just slips after awhile.

Only person i have known who was close to me was my Grandpa, but even then we never really got in. My dads prob going to die within the next 10 years (Muliaple cansers) So I got that to look forward too.... -.- Fun........ >_>

Well, no. It's illegal in Sweden to take pictures of anything military.
The patch and so are publicly exposable, and I'm not hold back by some stupid rule to tell other people about my job.

The patch looks like this: http://www.mil.se/images/vapen/mdn_lappland.gif
Any more questions?

I thought I remember posting this...

One day I found the internet. My life has been dead ever since.

Does that count?

Yes, which regiment? Kiruna? Are you part of A Special Force that operates abroad?

Yes, Kiruna. Or, the whole Lappland, we work alot with K4.
I've done non-training missions outside Sweden, if that is what you mean.

Now that was close to death !

Yes, so you are trained for abroad missions only, and not trained to protect us from the russians?

Training don't prepare us to some specfic enemy, I'm trained to be a combat medic, and to use a sniperrifle in artic climats.

I'll say more abroad then defending.

aside from Mike Tyson trying to eat my ear off.....

I fell asleep driving and woke up just in time to see my car hit three trees head on at 65mph. Mna the engine was knocked up onto the window :O

I was a thin strap of material(seat belt) away from death.

So you're like that Cris Ryan guy, from the SAS( if you don't know him you should check what happend to him in Irak)
Well I believe you, but tell me you have been on non training missions outside of sweden, but have you been in live action, you know where you or some of you're teammates had to fire. Oh yeah and I tought that I heard somewhere that sweden is going dismantle its aremy, you know after costa rica is going to be the second country without an army, well if that is true, what will happen to you, are you going to a civilian medic.

I never heard of him, and Google is very blurry on names, could you tell who he is?
Damn, sorry. I can't answer that. But that dosn't make it a yes, or a no.

Well, mostly the developed weaponsystems, such as UAV-Ugglan, SAM-Bamse and the JAS Gripen. We still don't know what will happen to the special forces (there is quite alot of them in Sweden) but else, the FRSA (Försvarets radiospaningsanstalt, much like NSA) have showed interest about a job.

you say you're a sniper too! could you give some tips about aiming and stuff? I am thinking of joining the military (2 years from now) as a sharpshooter (sniper) so any help would be great! i'm saving up money to buy a new Diana air gun. Ok i know it's not the same as a real firearm but it's caracteristics are somewhat the same as in weight (3.1 kg), the power it's not even nearly the same but its acurrancy is very good (i think that shooting a 1 square inch target from 30 meters is as hard as hiting a human sized object from 600 meters?! any comments moppe). i've also read that the german millitary uses this gun for practising. The reason i'm not buying a real gun is that here it very difficult (license and all that) to get one, you wouldn't have any use of it unless you're a hunter, because the nearest firing range is about 200km from here and guns are not allowed to be used outside it and besides the Diana costs aprox. 350 dollars (without scope, that is) compared to a real sniper rifle which goes from 4000 and more!
i've qould be really grateful for some advice :stare:

I was about to cross a road when my friend stopped me. The driver of the car that would of hit me if i had walked across panicked and hit another car the was truning right onto the road. No body was hurt but it was pretty scary.
