The Great Below - Nine Inch Nails
Wonderful Night - Fatboy Slim

The soundtrack to indie film Me And You And Everyone We Know (link), written by Michael Andrews (he also did the soundtrack to Donnie Darko, including playing piano on the cover of Mad World) is really mellow, very sunny and a bit ethereal. Kind of like Brian Eno's Ambient series, but a bit more upbeat.

Anything by Air, Massive Attack, Zero 7, Aphex Twins and Thomas Newman (American Beauty, Shawshank Redemption, Road to Perdition). Chicane has some soothing tracks too. Norah Jones also has some great tracks to chillout too.

Which track did Rob Dougan do on the Blade Trinity Soundtrack? He didn't if I recall correctly.

All of Explosions In The Sky - The Earth Is Not A Cold Dead Place. And on the subject of that sort of band, anything Mogwai (Mr Beast is ****ing AWESOME. Go buy it) and Sigor Ros.

But for seperate songs, ummm. Some of these aren't chillout because they're calm or whatever, some of the are just songs I've got memories of chilling out to in the summer and stuff.

Pink Floyd - Any Colour You Like
The Devin Townsend Band - Let It Roll
Sublime - Summertime
Primus - The entire 'Sailing the Seas of Cheese' album
Incubus' 'S.C.I.E.N.C.E' album
Liquid Tension Experiment - Osmosis

I can't actually think of anything right now, but some of that ^ was all perfect summer music last year. Lazy days, lazy days...

Anything by Sublime, Scientist, Brian Eno, Bob Marley, Team Sleep, most of Deftones 'White Pony' album, Mogwai, Buckethead (I'm thinking of Electric Tears).

hehe i was just about to post about those 3 bands so QFT!

IMO the best chillout album of all time would have to go to My Bloody Valentine's Loveless. Pop it in and youll be in a unmovable state of ecstasy for about 55 minutes, before you wake up in a pool of your own sweat wondering what the f*ck just happened.

Listening to some of the tracks on Amazon.com and it seems like a pretty good album, might pick it up. Also noticed one of the tracks if off the Lost in Translation Soundtrack.

That "Sia - Breathe Me" is a pretty good track, I was gonna get her album a while back, but didn't - might get it. Thomas Newman did a great job with Six Feet Under Soundtrack.

that final scene is heart renching.........must not cry, death is part of life;(

Anyway,Here are some more cool chillout songs

Little fluffy clouds-the orb

fade out, karma police, let down, Nice dream, optomistic, this isn't happening- radiohead

all of darkside of the moon-excluding money( which kicks ass either way)

Another day, decomposing trees- galaxie 500

Pretty much everything off of david bowie's low and heroes but the songs sound and vision, always crashing in the same car, warszwawa and heroes are what id start with.

The View-modest mouse

Tunnels( neighborhood 1), Haiti, Rebellion(lies) - the arcade fire

Memories of places we've never been, Will you tell then- The Faunts, good luck finding Will you tell me then, but you can download MoPwNB right here http://www.faunts.com/main.html

Breaking the Girl-Redhotchilipeppers, this is their best IMO

Jacksonville,Chicago, the tallest man the broadest shoulders, Man of matropolis, steals our hearts................. i have to get greetings from Michigan, cause illinois is awesome.

Only shallow and Blown a wish- My Bloody Valentine, i can't tell you how exceptional these two songs are

Bones of an idol, these are the fables- the new pornographers

Alone again or- Love

brink's, thanks for the reminder of Little Fluffy Clouds, I've gave up waiting for my download service to make it available, just checked back and it's there now! w00t!

Bon Jovi's "Bitter Wine". very good chillout song, sit there in the sun and just listen.

Also, Jackson Browne's "Sky Blue and Black"

-Angry Lawyer

I like E-Pro, but I'd give Go It Alone the nod for being more mello.
Bones of an idol, these are the fables- the new pornographers
Again the same album, but I'm partial to The Bleeding Heart Show. Or even going back to Mass Romantic and Slow Descent into Alcoholism.

Incubus - Aqueous Transmission and anything by Massive Attack

I recently made an itunes playlist for this sort of thing, and here's what I came up with:

The Beatles-Happiness is a Warm Gun
Ratatat-Cherry
Modest Mouse-Karma's Payment
Olivia Tremor Control-I Have Been Floated
Neutral Milk Hotel-Engine
Beaulah-Silverado Days
The Microphones-I Want Wind to Blow

Of Montreal-Requiem for O.M.M.2.
Morrissey-Now My Heart is Full
Mirah-La Familia

You thought I was joking! This meme has learned to reproduce like a virus - the first topic (cell) got infected and reproduced until it exploded and died. A useless post that contains no useful content and exists only for post counts is like an infected cell that performs no useful task other than cranking out other viruses, especially when these topics tend to reproduce (and end in a similar fate). That brothers and sisters, is how you know the forum is hurtin'. This (not the only) carcinogen, or that which breeds useless posts (cancers) in a healthy, thriving forum, is users' quest for high post counts. Once a forum matures enough so there's enough 'post count stratification' to divide the users, the body is ripe for infection. If the infection isn't controlled, the forum will be overcome and die. (Would you join or remain at a forum that consisted primarily of topics with no content? Would you leave a similar forum?)

Apparently, this forum is too popular for its own good. And, this thread is useless and merely a tool for people to increase their post counts, at least thats my understanding.
