Now that DOD: Source has been out for a while, I just wanna know if you guys still think it's as good as you did when it first came out.

I had a hunch it could get old, but is that the case?

I think it's a grat game. The atmosphere from bazooka's flyin', nades blowing up, gunfire... it's great. It really has a war feel to, it's great IMO and can only get better.

nah, gets better i say. with new maps and technology. definitely worth it

havent played it but if it still has DOD fatal flaw - the difficulty of having any even informal teamwork - then it really wont last

Still needs more content, more maps more gameplay modes.

But it's getting better.

agreed 100% -- there aren't many games which are so immersing like dod.

if you have a 16 or 32 player server, with even teams (as in skill wise), and no team can tip the balance, it's so damn fun, you'll usually hit the map time limit instead of map score limit, and you'll know that was an awesome match.

DoD source has indeed gotten better. Lot's of good custom maps coming. Seeing a lot of new clans in the scene. I guess the free weekend made some difference after all.

There are a few extremely anoying things in the game. Like the hit reg, ya the devs alway say that theres no problem with source hit boxes or hit reg. Well when in a clan match you get behind a player (whose proning) and shoot one clip with thompson at him and he still has 100hp it makes you wonder. Also proning players seem to be impossible to kill with the knife or with the shovel.

I just love this game, I play it even more than BF2 and BF:2 SF, also this game is in its infancy, so more, many more things will be added to it, more maps, objective maps, breackable code (They are working on this right now), if you have the pc to back it up, graphics are unbelievable good, and you don't have to wait ages for new patches and content, games is updated very often and it updates itself so no hardtimes looking patches or faster ways to download them.
The comunity while not perfect is more "Moron-free" than for example BF:2, and DOD:S have already a very loyal fanbase. So to sume up, no, I won't get old anytime soon... :D

Yeah, if BF2 is any two things, it's moron-city, and patch-hell.

Just moving your soldier around is a blast, it just feels like you're really into it.

DOD:S only gets better over time, because you eventually begin to just know instinctivly what to do and not to do. That and it is very smooth so you never consciously have to put effort into some tasks that other games are very rigid about. It really makes the immersion unbreakable.

Ive been playing DoD source ever since it came out, and have not been bored by it at all. Ill admit there arent many good maps ( I only really play on Donner, Argentan).

But on a good server, with a few good teammates the gameplay is excellent, refreshing and always fun.

The update with motion blur/ vision depth looks great, and it will only make the game better

For me, it's getting a shitload better, learning the weapons and the gameplay.

Played oldschool DOD and loved it until DOD:S came out, and i loved that. Gets better as you play because people get more skilled and its always lots of fun to have a battle at one of the choke points in the maps. Still could use a few more maps and even a different gamemode would be nice. Maybe bring back the maps where you had to destroy bridges, nebelwurfhers and other stuff. Most satisfying when you get a headshot with garand, seeing the helmet fly off and the body keel over is priceless.
