It is strange to think that it has been three years since Battlefield 2 was originally released, even stranger to think that the series is taking such a radical next step with Battlefield Heroes. The Battlefield series has had some highs, and some lows. The original BF1942 was most certainly a classic game, Vietnam was a bit of a let down while 2142 was just there. For me Battlefield 2 was the high point of the series, and is one of the best PC based online-FPS games.

I remember when it released because that was the reason I joined here. :O
 
Too bad all of my memories basically lie within the demo of the game.
By the time I actually bought it, everyone was already getting tired of it. :(

And now, Punkbuster plagues me so the game is nigh unplayable.
 
Agreed Evo, BF2 is probably the best in the series. At least that's what I've spent most time with (200+ hours) with lots of good memories. BF1942 is close second because that was one of the first really major online game I played - and of course all the fantastic mods that came out (Forgotten Hope, Desert Combat, Interstate 82 (btw, what ever happened to the BF2 version?), Pirates).

Mmm, looking forward to BF3. :)
 
I figure I've played the game too much, since Xfire reports me as having ~800 hours logged. WTF?

Anyway, if anybody is willing to hop back on, I'm game.
 
**** I loved it, but now I suck at it, since I have not played it in over a year.
 
I need to get me another headset. Fkn mic's keep breaking on me constantly.
 
Battlefield 2 really was the peak of the series, 2 years ago a bunch of friends and I all went to this place we found downtown where they had like a 16 computer lan setup and you'd pay by the hour.

We played played the hell out of BF2, it really is the best when you get to play with a group of people you know, especially when they're right beside you.

Here's hoping Battlefield: Heroes is good, I hated bad company so I hope they try to keep it closer to the old battlefields.
 
BF:Heroes is dog shit unless you're an easily entertained person who loves games where it literally takes 20 shots from a shotgun to kill someone.
It's a completely dumbed down version of Battlefield for people who only have a passing interest in video games.
 
I agree with BF2 being the peak of the series (so far... lets hope BF3 is awesome).

I still play a few times a week.

I did realize this game is massively more fun when you are drunk. Just FYI for those who thing the game is still not that fun :)
 
No, I find that Starcraft is very frustrating drunk :p

BF2 was okay, but I got it late, so I missed most of the online clan thing you guys were doing. My favourite is probably the WWI mod.
 
You should log on while I'm playing. I usually get a decent amount of teamwork going with my squad. If I'm the squad leader, we can usually take any flag we aim at.

Gotta reinstall it first. And try to remember my username. But yeah, I might do it.
 
I hope Forgotton Hope 2 can put some life back into BF2, it's utterly lifeless.
