Probably the best place to ask. I've had an idea for some writing, but in order to make it look how I want, I'll need some illustrations. The idea I had was for very simplistic images, with regular shapes and plain shading and colours, of humans and inanimate objects. I'd like them to be as easy to repeat as possible with some degree of flexibility (i.e. posing things).

I've got photoshop and I am fairly competent with it as a program, I just haven't really used it for creating things from scratch. Is it possible to do what I want with it in a simple(ish) way?

Are there any other methods and/or programs that you can recommend?

Thanks :D

Id say photoshop sould be easy just use the shape tool and im not sure how you would go about the DPI and the PPI.

Adobe Illustrator is probably what you're looking for. Or any other type of vector drawing tool. That will allow you to create vector components of a character (hands, head, eyes, etc) and then easily move them around and reshape them. It's pretty much built for exactly what you want to do. Hence its name.
