Heres my latest creation M4A1, M4A1 RIS and M4A1 with M203. Pretty much finished just got to tweak the m203 and optimize the lot. The poly count for a standard M4A1 with no attachments is 3000 and the RIS version the same. When you add attachments then the poly count starts to mount up a bit. All modelled in 2 days.

Has anybody got some pics of the M4's with no front site and fold up rear back up iron sites ?

What kind of Acog is on that M4a1? :E
 
Dunno what kinda ACOG it is so check the image, image name is TA01 i guess thats it :). Was pretty trickey to model cause it has lots of weird shapes.
 
Holy *(*&*^! We want tuts. If you didn't say WIP I would have thought it was finished.
 
Another exceptional model. Your mod will definately be one i will be trying out :).
 
exellent model! Now lets see the RIS with the ACOG, harris bipod, and laser. :)
 
looks good, but the poly count looks a little to low.
 
on the first gun where the foregrip is, that looks like it sucks atleast 1000 poly. GJ im just kinda sceptical.
 
Does the M4 also come with a shotgun attachment as well and would you also consider doing this variant?

The thing about your M4 and the Mp5 is that they do look like they are fully capable of killing someone.
 
Sidewinder u got a ar? I got a Bushmaster m4 with a ta31f ,magpul stock and a SIR rail system
 
oh LoL if ur over 18 and dont live in cali or new york, u should get one ...


ANd btw the Assualt weapons ban ends in sept of this year WoOoOOHoOoO. i get to put a flash hider on my m4!

Cheers for the comments guys, this is definatly my best work so far. Soon i'll post another quick conversion to M16

Waedoe: Polycount abit low 0_o, im assuming you mean it seem abit low for what it is. Well it is correct and yes i am checking it in editable mesh :p. I put heaps of effort into getting all the detail out while optimzing as i go, its real easy to keep a low poly count imho.

The Cylinder which is the fore grip comes to 460 polys. All those rings are seperate from the cylinder aswell as the edges. Which saves a hell of a lot of polys. But might be a bitch to unwrap o well.

Pendragon: The light is suppose to be like that, ridged. Not everything is round and if i put a smooth group on it then it will appear round :).
 
And heres the M16 model. Just a quick conversion fo the M4A1 foregrip and a new Stock and bam done. This one ways in at 3500 polys :E. O and i forgot to get rid of the indent on the barrel, which isnt on m16's :p

Looks good, but same question as with the MP5s:
Why make all these versions? Is it in that way you are going to get 70(?)+ weapons?
 
Why not. To go from a M4A1 to a M16 took me about an hour to model. Modeling is all i do so it was no effort. Not all my models will be used in the mod but thats not what im really out for. You could say i get off on modeling :p The veriantions of the M4 family are there so they may aswell be modelled :)
 
Very nice job, The polycount might be hovering at 3000, But people forget that when you optimize it (if It Goes into Half Life 2) and you delete most of the right sides polygons for the model the player sees in his hands you probably can get it down to 1400-1700polys. That is if it doesnt have a charging handle anim :rolling:

But hell, a Headcrab is rumored to be around 3,000 polys why not. Time will tell.
