Despite what it says on the "Next Month" page in #104, we will not be reviewing Half Life 2 in #105.

At the time of going to print a review did look likely to happen, but subsequent events have rendered it impossible. The following issue - #106 - should carry the eagerly anticipated PCPP review.

However we do have an unexpected treat for you in #105. I can't reveal any more, save to say it's BIG news.

probably somewhere along the lines of "next issue might have a hl2 preview/review" or "Hl2 delayed again"

I doubt we would see the gold announcement in a mag (on steampowered.com they said it would be announced on steampowered.com and Hl2.com (or whatever the official site is) first... you wont have to search for it, or buy a mag to know its gone gold

yes I will still get Hl2 I have said that the whole time...
Valve can delay it all they want, wont change that.... I just hope it doesnt tank. (like all other seemingly good games) not tank as in it sucks and doesnt sell.. tank as in it is mediocre.

I just wish they would let us know whats up.. I fail to see how leading us on helps them. (unless they are really using marketing strategies up the rectum)

Believe me I have heard people say they won't buy the game simply because they don't like what Valve has supposedly done to them. I always say the same thing to them though:

"I thank you for not subjecting me to your ill-temper and personality in any future HL2 multiplayer games "

I'd suspect that with the title "ITS DONE" they are refering to the fact they have a Gold date? Then the next month they would get a Gold copy for review and be able to review it. They must know when it is going to go Gold if they knew they couldn't review it for that issue!

Hmm, well that kind of sucks. It could have something to do with another magazine (PCGamer perhaps) having the rights to an exclusive first review, but I doubt it. I'm sure it's just a case of the game not being done.

PCPP mags are completed about one month before we see them on the shelves (I think, it's been a while since it's been discussed so I may be wrong). This means that for a HL2 review to be in #106 (~October 22), they would have to be receiving the game within the next few weeks for it to make deadline. It can't be too far off now!

By the way, David himself confirmed that the "Its done!" statement was in reference to a review.
