Man cleared of murder charges after 14 years of prison!

Taking bets on how much money he'll be paid to recoup the losses.

15 milion.

Uh, he did kill... right?

Must suck though.

You wish. There have been previous cases of this and they don't get anything close to that.

"Wrongfully Convicted Man Awarded 450 Thousand Dollars

News ? Texas has awarded more than $450,000 to a man who was exonerated by DNA evidence after spending 18 years in prison for a sexual assault conviction."

I figured they would pay him the amount of money he would have made at work for those years...so ~500-700k sounds right for this one.

*EDIT* GOD I DID IT AGAIN! Why do I swear I hit the edit button when it's the "reply" one >_<

Still a spit in the face when you see that you're not even getting compensated for having your freedoms taken away.

It's definitely true. Nothing can replace those 14 years you've lost watching your life just pass you by....it's got to suck. :(

No, the science teacher he supposedly killed had killed somebody else, but in self defense. They said that he killed the science teacher in revenge for killing that first guy. But in reality it wasn't him.

'Mixed emotions' would probably be about right.

Mixed emotions:

"I'm so glad to be out; to see my wife who has left me years ago; to see my children all grown up, me having nothing to do with their childhood; to try to cope with technologies and ways of life that we now exercise; to try to get a job with my now obsolete career in which I spent four years in college studying for."

Wait, so who killed the guy then? He walked up to the engineer's door, and then was shot? When the engineer opened the door? What?

I wouldnt even know how to start rebuilding my life after that. You would be so out of the loop in everything. You probably couldnt even talk to somebody without them thinking you are wierd, because you dont know a lot of the current events.

There's a lot more to it than that, it's not just 14 years of lost sallary, it's 14 years of living! No family, all your friends saw you as a convicted murderer, hard times in jail, 14 years spent in misery, 14 years you'll never get back.

lol... so wat does he do?

He buys a copy of HL2 and joins an online forum to regain his sanity.

:p
