Manly Tears while watching movies

I am the world's biggest baby when it comes to entertainment media. I even cry, or tear up during music sometimes, shit.

In the theaters or when watching with others, I try to hide the shame by not drying my eyes... let them bitches air dry. If they see you wipe your eyes, they will know you are weak. If I hold it back just enough, I won't get the telltale runny nose and sniffles. Oh god, the shame.


EDIT: Maybe it's the music then, if there was no music, I'd be alright. Gets me every time.
 
Well Cast Away had no music in it. Neither did that Buffy the Vampire Slayer episode where

Buffy's mom dies :(
 
Pixar very nearly got me in Toy Story 3. All my effort not to tear up.
 
If you haven't seen UP I highly recomend it, best Pixar movie in my mind. The famous "gowing old" scene had me in tears

Up
Grave of the Fireflies
Atonement (the book, as masterful as it was, didn't draw a tear... the film on the other hand)
The Road (again, book barely registered, film struck home... I think the knowing of the upcoming tragedy just made me even more susceptible)
Lord of the Rings (Boromir, The Havens :()
The Thin Red Line (not during, but after it ended was when it really gutted me)
Saving Private Ryan
Schindler's List (I tried to reserve all my emotions, but when Oskar starts to regret that he couldn't have saved more the floodgates opened)
Lost in Translation

Probably a fair few more out there that I can't recall right now.
 
****ing Iron Giant... whoever wrote that was prolly laughing like "Oh man I'ma have all these bitches crying"

Braveheart was the last one to get me... I've watched it a thousand times but one night the ending just took me down.

Up was sad but not worth crying.

I don't think I've cried for many movies now that I think about it. There are a lot of movies where I'm like "this is really sad" but I don't cry. I dunno. Modern movies either have no emotional buildup or are just ****ing emotional waterfalls that are designed to brainwash women into expecting hallmark love every moment of their lives.

I guess I'm trying to say that a lot of new movies suck...

edit: The Fountain gave me some kind of emotional response. That ending just sort of rebuilt my mind. I didn't know whether to smile or cry so I just sat unblinking through the credits.

Oh shit, this. I haven't seen The Iron Giant in atleast 8 years.

I actually avoid watching alot of movies with friends for this very reason. Can't have them see me in bitch mode.

Movies that I can remember shedding a tear to are

The Green Mile (multiple scenes)
Toy Story 2 (the part where Jessie is talking about her owner while that song plays)
District 9 (a few parts where I felt bad for the alien and his son)

Old Yeller

There are countless others, but those are the ones that come to mind.

Edit: How in the **** did I forget Lion King? **** you Scar. Asshole.
 
Almost every scene in The Lovers of the Arctic Circle makes me cry. It's a sad drama.
 
Man Tears should be reserved for sports movies. Like Rudy or Remember the Titans or Friday Night Lights. You might notice those are all football.

The biggest one is Mrs Doubtfire, where at the end you can hear Robin read out his daughters message.

Having gone through some rough shit with parental break-ups, it means something to me.

Maybe staying in Italy for too long has made you emo? I've heard Italians are notoriously emotional.

My mother's part Italian and she always would ask people if they've ever been to an Italian funeral. lol

You might want to think about returning to Sweden before you end up a blubbering mess even if you watch Spongebob.
 
ITT: I forgot to add one very emotional cartoon I remember back when I was a kid. Has anyone ever seen the, "Brave Little Toaster"?

I remember feeling very sad for the poor cars that were getting crushed at the junk yard. ;(

I hated that cartoon ever since, because it turned me into a hoarder of sorts for a while. I refused to throw any appliance away that was broken and would have to always reassure myself that, "IT'S ONLY AN INANIMATE OBJECT WAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!"

Iron Giant really gets to me too. One of my favorites. I remember shedding tears when I used to watch An American Tail. Grave of the Fireflies and Now and Then, Here and There also teared me up. Atonement, Life is Beautiful, and Shindlers List made me shed many, many man tears. I think the one movie that really got to me though was Mask (not the Jim Carry movie you ****s). The one about a kid named Rocky Dennis who had craniodiaphyseal dysplasia (its where the skull keeps building up calcium, thus slowly crushing the brain while making your face look disfigured). God, the ending, it just tears me up each time I see it.

Oh, I almost forgot... The Plague Dogs. I cant even describe how sad you feel watching it. I mean, when you see a dog drown in the opening credits, you know its not a feel good movie.
 
OK, so since I can't post new topics I'll post this here since it's semi related.

I usually go to www.movies-links.tv for the past like year to watch all my movies. Apparently they've been seized by the US government for copyright infringement and all that BS...my question to you guys, where do you go to watch all of your movies because I want to watch a lot of movies you all have posted here.
 
The last time I cried watching a movie was during Saving Private Ryan, after the captain died. That was like 10 years ago.

But scenes such as Up's opening scene, etc. etc. make me feel really sad inside, but after cauterizing my tear ducts, I find it hard to cry.

Most movies dealing with lost fathers hit me pretty hard. My dad died died when I was 13. Frequency is one of those movies for me.

best subscription service I've ever had. Netflix has been making large strides to get their service on as many devices as possible, so maybe once that's done, they'll considering branching out into Canada. There's a large untapped market there.

I just watched that episode, Jurassic bark, **** it. Robo-puppy is hilarious.
Also, the one with Fry's brother, Luck Of The Fryrish, and Leela's Homeworld. Those are some of my favorite episodes.
 
I can't watch anything with animals in distress. Especially if violent acts are being committed towards the animals.
I weep and rage like a mad man at the same time.


Oh yah, and WALL-E. That damn cute, googly eyed bastard.
