cool book otherwise

Interesting. Marijuana should only be experimented with by adults. Children and teenagers are too stupid to be trusted with it.

No, actually, nobody should be trusted with it. It's highly addictive and it can totally screw up your memory. It affects the hippocampus, the part of the brain that converts short term memory into long term memory, so if you smoke marajuana all the time, you end up losing the ablility to remember stuff. [/politics forum]

That's why no one should do it all the time. I'm not advocating marijuana use, just stating who should be allowed to try it: adults.

If you smoke too much you're liable to have a heart attack. If you drink too much your liver will fail.

LMAO I agree that part was just ridiculous and undermined what the book was trying to do.

Perhaps the author/illustrator was high in the middle of writing it.

Hmmm, are you sure you aren't thinking of alcohol.

Cannabis isn't addictive, and it only affect short term memory (in some users only) while you are actually high. The real danger of cannabis is the danger of smoking in general: inhaling fumes can't possibly be good for your lungs.

Ahahahahahahaha.... Ahahahahahah.
Hahaha

hahahahahaha..hehehehehehe

hahahahahahaha...

Hah.

ha.

The fact is, it's different for everyone. In most cases, people are able to used it responsibly. Me, I have no urge to do it 99% of the time, but if someone's passing a bong around, and it's a Friday night, I figure "what the hell, let's have some fun :D". On the other hand, with some, it really does become somewhat addictive, and lead to worse things. As I was explaining to AiM before, my friend started on it... and kept going, and going, and going. It let to shrooms, then acid, then opium... at that point, I helped him cool it, and now he's all good :D

Anyway, my point is, calling it a "dangerous, nasty, horrible substance" isn't true, but calling it harmless isn't either. It's just different for everyone, and no-one should try it until they're confident that they're mature enough to handle it (if at all).

That aside, that book was pretty awesome :D

Hence why it's called a "gateway drug" and a big reason why it's actually illegal.

I wish I had some right now. Drunk as **** and if I pass out I'ma have a hell of a hangover. I need some water but I'm not 100% sure I'll make it to the ktichen without waking people up :/

Always keep a bottle of water in your room. It's a lifesaver for cottonmouth aswell if you can't go all Solid Snake into the kitchen to get some.

i feel enlightened, i lvoe the fact that the book in inexplciabley politically incorrect, i dont think i saw a white person, there were black men stopped by police for smoking ganja, why werent a white man stopped, where are the ethnical minorities i ask!!!

how odd, a book so tranquil could be deemed by the government a hazard,

Cup of tea and a ham sandwich before you go to bed. Works every time.

What? He gave a real life scenario... And it's not one of a kind either, it only makes sense that doing a drug constantly would lead to escelating to worse drugs if you weren't in control. What is so unrealistic about that?

there's no access to marijuana where i'm around.

it sucks; i'd like to try it.

Can you link to a study showing that use of drug a (weed preferably) triggers withdrawal symptoms unique to drug b, forcing the user to start taking drug b? Id like to see it.
ps. is hl2.net loading at like 0.00001 kbps for everyone or is it just me?

First of all I never said anything forced anyone to do anything. Second of all why would I need to provide research when J just gave you a real life scenario right there? Third of all, I know for a fact that people who make poor choices due to peer pressure or no self control can very easily elevate to more powerful drugs. It's simple logic and J's story isn't the only one I've heard of.

I wasn't saying it's like that for everyone. In fact, I was saying that for most people, weed ISN'T necessarily a gateway drug. For my dear friend, though, it was.

Then by that logic, you should ban alcohol, since most everyone I know has drank alcohol before smoking mary j...

The point im making is that theres nothing in weed that makes anyone need to take other drugs, as the gateway theory suggests. If acid was the most prevalant illegal drug, that would be the 'gateway' drug. Most people 'start' with weed because they come across it first, thats all.

Dont forget coffee and chocolate (theobromine). We should ban those too. On second thoughts lets just remove everyones 5-ht receptors after birth.

kk

That worked out well.

He has a point. Weed is less potent than alcohol. Everything in moderation, though.
