noob.bvasgm said:No, actually, nobody should be trusted with it. It's highly addictive and it can totally screw up your memory. It affects the hippocampus, the part of the brain that converts short term memory into long term memory, so if you smoke marajuana all the time, you end up losing the ablility to remember stuff. LMAO I agree that part was just ridiculous and undermined what the book was trying to do.Dalamari said:Her mother must be on the way to shoot the cover for "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" :|
cool book otherwise
It's Just a Plant said:“What’s that, Mommy?” asked Jackie. “Are you and Daddy smoking a cigarette?”
“No, baby,” said her mother. “This is a joint. It’s made of marijuana.”

Hence why it's called a "gateway drug" and a big reason why it's actually illegal.JNightshade said:The fact is, it's different for everyone. In most cases, people are able to used it responsibly. Me, I have no urge to do it 99% of the time, but if someone's passing a bong around, and it's a Friday night, I figure "what the hell, let's have some fun ". On the other hand, with some, it really does become somewhat addictive, and lead to worse things. As I was explaining to AiM before, my friend started on it... and kept going, and going, and going. It let to shrooms, then acid, then opium... at that point, I helped him cool it, and now he's all good
Anyway, my point is, calling it a "dangerous, nasty, horrible substance" isn't true, but calling it harmless isn't either. It's just different for everyone, and no-one should try it until they're confident that they're mature enough to handle it (if at all).
That aside, that book was pretty awesome
Always keep a bottle of water in your room. It's a lifesaver for cottonmouth aswell if you can't go all Solid Snake into the kitchen to get some.RakuraiTenjin said:I wish I had some right now. Drunk as **** and if I pass out I'ma have a hell of a hangover. I need some water but I'm not 100% sure I'll make it to the ktichen without waking people up :/

In the same way that go karts lead some to formula 1..JNightshade said:my friend started on it... and kept going, and going, and going. It let to shrooms, then acid, then opium...
What? He gave a real life scenario... And it's not one of a kind either, it only makes sense that doing a drug constantly would lead to escelating to worse drugs if you weren't in control. What is so unrealistic about that?Reaktor4 said:In the same way that go karts lead some to formula 1..
Can you link to a study showing that use of drug a (weed preferably) triggers withdrawal symptoms unique to drug b, forcing the user to start taking drug b? Id like to see it.vegeta897 said:What? Hehe hey it was Saturday night man. Don't remember making that post LOL, but I guess I was coherentDeusExMachina said:Or you could just not get piss drunk
First of all I never said anything forced anyone to do anything. Second of all why would I need to provide research when J just gave you a real life scenario right there? Third of all, I know for a fact that people who make poor choices due to peer pressure or no self control can very easily elevate to more powerful drugs. It's simple logic and J's story isn't the only one I've heard of.Reaktor4 said:Can you link to a study showing that use of drug a (weed preferably) triggers withdrawal symptoms unique to drug b, forcing the user to start taking drug b? Dont forget coffee and chocolate (theobromine). We should ban those too. On second thoughts lets just remove everyones 5-ht receptors after birth.AzzMan said:Then by that logic, you should ban alcohol, since most everyone I know has drank alcohol before smoking mary j...
