BioWare's much-anticipated Xbox 360 RPG Mass Effect has finally been pencilled in for release this September, months after the June/July arrival date previously expected.

Phew!! I thought I was going to have to decide between 360/PS3 in June!! Now I have a few more months to carefully weigh the decision!! :|

Also announced is a pc version of the game slated to be released at the same time as the xbox version. Fans speculate the delay was due to the pc port ..and for once we couldnt care less ..Mass effect on PC ftmfw

Oh that's right, it was Obsidian, but still; good example of why rushing game out the door is a poor choice, especially with this brand of rpg.

Well, "official" word from MS is that it is not "officially" delayed and that it is just speculation and rumor right now. I don't think we will see it until school stops and then starts again....

they (bioware devs) make a big stink on the official forums that there is no official release date, and therefore won't comment on a "delay".

That said, a Microsoft spokesperson told GameDaily BIZ today, "We have not made any official announcements regarding release timing for Mass Effect. At this time, any information about the game's release date is purely rumor and speculation."

That is what I just said in my previous post. :| Thanks for the link though.

And even though there was never an "official" announcement about a release date, to everyone who has been following this game this equates to a delay because perception was that it would be ready by early summer.
