mass epidemic in pine forests

It is a strange fate that we should suffer so much fear and doubt over so small a thing. Such a little thing.

Give the Beetle back to Nature.

We have those critters here, and I remember at least one 'cycle' from the '80s.

Maybe part of the reason this cycle is so much more intense than others is that the forests are so much denser than 'normal', due to constant wildfire suppression? The local foresters have been thinning the woods here to try to get back to this state. It looks like shite at first, but those sections that have been around for even a year look pretty sharp.

The Infected are coming! RUN TO THE HILLS!

Makes 'em look purty! Once there be some snow on the ground it's gonna be just like Christmas with red, white and green!

I remember there was this place called the cider barrel on this street, directly behind it was a nice set of woods. Now all of that has been removed for houses. Pretty sad.
