Im Max Payne 2 why is it that when i press the shoot dodge button with a direction time slows down but it doesnt look the same as normal bullet time??

i.e. I press bullet time only and the screen goes that faded colour and the sounds does that "WAAAARPPPP!" sound. However, i press shoot dodge with a direction he does his jump and time slows down, but the screen doesnt change colour and it doesnt make the WAAAARP sound, gun fire sounds do sound slow though. Then when i hit the ground time speeds up again, as it should with shoot dodge.....

Ive played Max 1 and completed it so i know what im no about.... just thought it was strange.....

Oh yeah, also, when i do shoot dodge (the one that doesnt do the colour change and sound) my ammount of bullet time doesnt reduce, it stays at whatever level it was before. In Max Payne 1 anyway it was slowly reduced as one would expect

they changed the way bullet time works in MP2...

so so so so..... but so but but......

So i dont get that ace sound when i do a shoot dodge.... tell me aint it so Mr. :(

Bullet time has been changed but ive not got payne 2 yet so i cant tell you if its a control issue or not.... perhaps someone with payne might be able to help?

Having a WRRRRRRR and a colour change every time you did a stingy dive would be annoying, I'm guessing they left it out on purpose.

I dont think it meant to change colour when you shoot-dodge. It would get annoying if the omage changed every time you did a shoot-dodge.

The differences in bullet time this time around, as far as I can see are:

Shoot-dodge doesnt use up anything from the meter.

You meter slowy refills over time, whether you kill enemies or not, although killing people still gives it a boost.

Then there's the whole 'going deeper into bullet-time' thing when you kill a certain amount of bad-guys. Also Max doesn't slow down in the same way as he did in the first one. Before he moved at the same speed as everyone else, it's just that the cursor remained in real-time Now though, to the enemies, it would look like he was moving really fast.

Yeah i hate how he moves the same speed :(

Would be better if he was just as slow as them but could turn and aim like normal

Right.... i hate it how Max moves faster than the bad guys while in bullet time, it would be better if he slowed down as well. i.e. he runs slow be he can still aim fast, mouse movement isnt slowed

That better?

ummm, thats kinda whats bullet time is for....

Does the bullet time change any of the firing rates for weapons? I know it would be unrealistic for mechanisms to move quicker but that was a little thing I disliked about the first game, automatic weapons didn't fire as quickly as you could aim.

I agree Viper - bullet time was handled much better in MP1.

It was better when movement was at the same speed as the bad guys during bullet time ........ as a result, using bullet time has less of an impact and is less enjoyable :/

Max Payne 1 is a better game, simply for this reason. The new physics effects are nice, but don't make up for screwing up what was essentially MPs biggest selling point.

(some of the physics suck real bad btw - and makes the game feel a little silly :/)

Not realy, i would say that bullet time is to slow the whole game down and make aiming easier..... not make max acctualy move faster than the bullets. Oh yeah, and to make it look purty :D

I kinda like the new bullet time...

Some of the groups of guys you have to kill are far far harder than in the first game, so it would be impossible to do this with old bullet time.

I wouldn't say it was an improvement, and it certainly doesn't ruin the game. It's just different and good in a whole new way.

Meh, original bullet time was far better. I dive attack just to get the original bullet time.
