Max Payne 3 has been confirmed! :cheers: so does anyone have any news regarding the story or anything else?
 
Well I would have thought you would being as you know from somewhere that it has been confirmed.
 
Yeh i did but i forgot were i read it ;( now i can't remember what else it said! ;( ;( ;( ;( ;(
 
Awsome, I hop this part has at least 20-30 hours of gameplay
 
Weird. I thought number 2 tied up all the plot lines nicely. This one will probably start a new, more standalone plot.
 
The Max Payne games are the best games i've ever played! I love them so much just a shame max payne 2 was so short! I wonder if mona will make another suprise recovery? man that would be freaky! But wait vlad, mona, vinnie and winterson are dead whos left to kill?
 
"Max Payne will continue his journey into the night..."
Plot will probably be something related to Winterson's "little blind kid"
 
Jeez, hasn't max eradicated just about every mafia gang in existence - I mean what could possible be left now.
 
Seriously though, if it's a sequel than I'd expect max to be like 60 with white hair - and a new meter to tell you how much damage your spinal cord has taken in a shootdodge...

You never beat it on the highest difficulty setting, did you?

... or the status of your hip replacement and artificial heart. How about an osteoporosis meter that makes you gradually take more damage from dodges/impacts depending on how long you play the game?

I really liked Max Payne 2 but the plot was a little disappointing. They threw all kinds of clues in that Max might actually just be insane. It would've been cool to beat the game and find out that Max was actually schizophrenic and all the characters were in his head. Yup. Would've been a great twist to realise that we just killed all those people for no reason.
 
You beat the game on "Dead on Arrival" and you don't know what I'm talking about? Liar.
 
yea bud, you definately didn't beat the game on the hardest difficulty, if you did you'd know that

I'm a bit "hmmm" on the notion that some other dev house than Remedy (who made 1 and 2) may be making it instead of them. You never know what others do with it, and I rather liked the storylines Remedy cooked up.

We'll see, I suppose.
 
i did play the first Max Payne game.. i have borrowed number 2 from a friend but haven't gotten around to it yet...hmm..

dunno.. by all these comments.. it sounds like MP3 will be more of a "cash-grab" than the actual Max Payne series.
 
I get the feeling Max Payne 3 made by someone else would just become another, "Super hero averge Joe takes on the world and wins...plus he lives happily ever after."

I read about it in a swedish gaming mag along time ago.
Apparently MP2 tanked, they didn't make any money at all really...

Too bad, the game was really cool, but I guess everybody downloaded it instead of buying it because it was too short... :hmph:


MP3 is going to be in development for a looong time, so just forget about it for a while if you can... :)

I'm playing again Max Payne 2, really good game, love the physics and the fights.
Those news are quite old you know, but like you say, if its not Remedy, it will Suck.
And to bad it did bad on sales, it was pirated a lot, they should have been more carefull.
 
anyhow about beating it on the hardest diff

The alternate ending is precisely that, much like the alternate ending to 24 season 1 were the wife lives. Doesn't mean Jack if they don't want to include it. And they probally wont because the majority of gamers probally haven't played it through to the end on the hardest diff. This would lead to plot confusion
 
I felt dissapointed with max payne 2,"the fall of max payne". i thought he would commit suicide or something, but NOOOO hes is still alive at the end. typical. WHY CANT HE DIE???
 
The only thing confirmed about MP3 is that it's the last game of the trilogy (may not be true obviously), it IS being done & it will take a LONG time to develop. I suspect maybe the time frame between start of mp1 development & release of mp2. That's a long time to me ;)

I'm going to pretend that MP3 never happened. I'll play it, but pretend it has nothing to do with the first two.

MP2s endings were perfect.

A little of me died inside.

Edit: Kinda reminds me of the Terminator series.

Yeah me too, he life is realy F * up, I thaugt he was going to suicide or something, but in the end, that's the buty of Max Payne, it's not meant to be a Hollywood Story.

I'm now on the part where I have to protect the Bassebal bat dude, so Fun, i really like this game.
