I figured it out...

The old bastard is just a REALLY finicky camera.

It decides whether or not, this time when you hit the shutter, it'll really close.

"Oh, he's gonna press the button. Nah, I think i'll wait"

"Oh, again! Nope, not this time"

"Ah, I feel comfortable now, lemme just wait a few seconds and CLICK"

I'm sure I could get it fixed up though, but meh :/
