H.

I think H. is about Heroin.

sober.

It could mean many things.

"Jesus wont you ****ing whistle."

so maybe its like saying"Jesus if you can do all the things you claim you can do then show me."

Jambi. about Keenan's son

Pushit,I think Pushit is about fantasizing Keenan killing his son when he was still a baby, then committing suicide.

"If I do,we both may disapear"

Stinkfist aka track Nr.1

him wanting to fist his GF,I think

post what you think.

I think the meaning of Tool songs is for us to blast it and enjoy the **** out of it.

stinkfist isnt about fisting a girl, it is about humans as a race have become so numb to everything that we now need something so drastic to feel like we are still alive, "Its not enough I need more nothing seems to satisfy, i dont want it, i just need it, to breathe to feel to know im alive" Fisting a girl is just a metaphor

I've only really listened to 10,000 days extensively. So.

Vicarious - obviously a criticism of the sensationalization of news media
Wings For Marie, Pt. 1 - The death of Judith-Marie (I believe she's Keenan's mother?). Apparently paralyzed for roughly 27 years, and I'm thinking she's on permanent life support, and this song is about letting go and pulling the plug.
10,000 Days (Wings Pt. 2) - The funeral for Marie. Lyrics are self-explanatory, really.
Lost Keys (Blame Hofmann) - Someone (Keenan?) having been submitted to a hospital, maybe a mental hospital.
Roseta Stoned - suggests that he (whoever "he" is) is either on a massive drug trip or is, for whatever reason, going insane.
Intension - some subtle criticism of the blind faith of the religious in the face of religion's moral teachings?
Right in Two - Essentially the same message as Intension, only it more blatantly criticizes humanity's misguided and immensely destructive desire to defend and fight for territory.

That's all I've got so far D:

10,000 Days' songs are very straightforward in interpretation compared to earlier albums, PARTICULARLY Lateralus, which is an obscure, vague masterpiece. Rosetta Stoned mentions DMT, so the person was assumedly tripping DMT and uncovered some huge truth that drove him insane... possibly the drug triggering latent schizophrenia.

There's a book some guy wrote available online as a pdf that's interpretation of all the Tool songs through Lateralus, and it's good, and VERY in-depth, the guy took like a year researching and stuff.

One thing to note is that Maynard enjoys being enigmatic and Tool doesn't comment on the meaning of their songs because they want people to form their own meanings... so we're all probably completely wrong.

i know that was sarcasm but i feel inclined to point out that it's a recipe for hash cookies in german

... and no eggs
