Medieval II: Total War: Kingdoms

Me neither. But then again, I am a brilliant general :D

No no no. Being a brilliant general has nothing to do with it. I'm great at the manuevering of my troops, but when they get into melee... the guys in front fight... the ones behind them in the other rows start backing up, backing up, backing up. until they're way far behind, meaning the guys in front don't get the reinforcements they need when the others die.

EDIT: Dear God. It's just what I was afraid of. It takes 5 hours to freaking patch and install this thing.

Yep it does take a long time to patch. But it is worth the wait.

Did you play it yet Raziaar? What did you think of it?

I played it some. It seems interesting, I like the idea of the new campaigns. I have a bad habit right now of not being able to sit through anything(I think it's ADHD), so I haven't given it a ton of time, but what I have seen was good so far.

I have a problem though, some assassin videos in Britannia campaign(which I assume would use the old ones, since the other videos are the old ones) are not showing up. It shows the text with a textbox to not show this movie type again, but doesn't show the movie.

So, I just finally picked up the Gold edition of this game.

Any tips for playing effectively? And maybe any mods I should keep an eye out for?

MII:TW is one of my favourite games ever. Had hours of fun with this game. Shame no games in the series since have really matched up to it. Empires was utter balls.

Holy shit I thought this was a new thread about another Medieval entry to the series.

/plays Rome:TW

Alright, I'm having a hard time in the regular campaign.
Whenever the pope wants me to start a crusade it's all well and good until I actually have my troops move to wherever he wants me to attack.(in this case I'm Spain and he wants me to attack Jerusalem which is way the **** on the other side of the damn map).
They desert after every turn basically to the point where all I'm left with is my general!

I take it that I need to have a pretty stable economy before I actually do the crusade?... since it seems like I have to stop and re-recruit mercs every turn.

Yeah the worstpart of Medieval 2 is the pope. He's a prick. Every 10 turns he's demanding a crusade and - if you manage to ever get there (I was Britain so it took like 400 turns) you face off against a massive powerful army that will kick any ass you put in front of it. I need to play this again and start a camaign with someone not so far away and just kill the pope.

Empire was pretty buggy / messed up after release but try Napoleon, it's improved in every way.

Dude, stop mucking around and go kill the pope! Works a charm.
