Drift isn't too distant from the old face of Wipeout, including epic multiplayer battles.

Metal Drift is a vehicular sport combat game set in a distant future. As the player, you command an agile, high powered hover tank in a futuristic sports arena. Core game play centers on intense tank-on-tank multiplayer team combat seen through an immersive, first person cockpit.

Metal Drift is set in the future with a vast choice of futuristic weaponry, but what modern day weaponry would you add to your own car to make it suitable for a scrap against other HL2.net members and their battling vehicles?[br]Best ideas & entertaining entries will win, good luck. A pintle-mounted railgun lined with carbon-plated gold for increased electrical charge and efficiency, utilizing depleted uranium bolts shot at an extremely high velocity, tearing through anything shy of diamondinium.

Fully electric, of course, so that it doesn't harm the environment.

Blades that pull out from the side and front, skewer your foes to the wall or slice them apart as they drive past you. Inappropriate use may lead you to being self-pinned to a wall or messing up/breaking the blades too close to a barrier.

I would add rockets and chainsaws to both sides of my car. They would all fold away to save space. Then, I would pull up beside my unlucky victim, initiate the rockets and chainsaws on the appropriate sides and slam them against the wall. The chainsaws would shred the car, completely incapacitating it. Everything then folds away, allowing me to pass.

I'd put flamethrowers like what Sebulba had on his podracer on the side of my car (flamethrowers are modern, so I think this counts). Nothing like melting the opposition to the ground, leaving them as easy pickings for a swift broadside ram.

I would add several Diamondplate sheets to the engine compartment to protect the motor, and barbed wire around the front to prevent local hijacking. The front windsheild will have a layer of chainlink fencing as well as several strips of sheet metal with adequete viewing room. The windows would recieve similar treatment. The rear bumper would have spiked containers filled with flammable mateiral (rear end me eh? Enjoy your napalm.) while the passenger seat has slide away defences (Thin metal and such) with firing ports.

Personal defence? My .22 rimfire and single shell shotgun.

Hmm... I would probably have something similar to that. My wepon would be a LAZOR BEAM and also I would have railguns on the side of the car.

The car itself would have to be Obama's supercar-mobile (http://theliepolitic.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/01/obama_cadillac_one.jpg) which, according to one bodyguard "could probably withstand a direct hit from an asteroid". Sounds good.

Primary weapon would be a loudspeaker system with the caaalllmmiinnngg voice of Morgan Freeman reassuring the other drivers, quite quickly curing their road rage.
Secondary weapon would then be laser-guided missiles to hit the other drivers in their calmed state.

And as a fail-safe, a nuclear warhead attached to the underside of the car. Just in case there's really no hope and you just have to end everyone. Even at the cost of yourself.

And even if Raptors are extinct (actually, that's just what they want you to believe, so they can escape their fame from the Jurassic Park movies), they're like the color black - never out of fashion and thus; modern!

For me, it would have to be a TOW missile. Let the competition get ahead, then blast them in the rear, because you know how I like to do it from behind...

I would have a .50 cal sniper rifle attached for if the opponent got to far away and a an AA12 shotgun equipped for when they were closer range. Plus have a barrel of oil at the back to let out the back when I'm ahead to make the opponents vehicle lose control

I'm not sure that a shotgun is going to do much damage to a vehicle, particularly an armored one.

I'm thinking about Metal Storm in the front and the back. The smart thing about that, is that I can then choose the amount of force I want to use. If shit hits the fan, I can unload everything into an opponent in the front or the back, which would surely cripple his vehicle; afterwards I'd be defenceless though. In better situations, I would be able to do controlled bursts to weaken my opponents.
