Metric or Imperial?

Which system of measurement is the best?

Why the hell would you want a decimeter, it's pointless, might as well say 10cm, or 15cm rather than 1.5 decimeters.
Decimetres is very useful when talking about lengths between 10 centimetres and a metre. Like "six decimetres" instead of "60 centimetres" or "0,6 metres".

Except in reality it's just what happens when one country refuses to go along with the rest of the world :P

Pretty much :(

What a happy ending though! I really suggest everyone reads the entire wiki I linked, it's tense to imagine yourself on the plane or in the cockpit. Those pilots were on their game that day

Very useful? Saves about 3 syllables.

Metric ftw in general.

Imperial ftw when it comes to beer and milk.

"473.18 millilitres of Heineken please mate" doesn't quite have the same ring to it :D

But just think, when the US fully converts to Metric, they're going to have to use the closest round unit to measure beer - the Litre :D

In which parallel reality, exactly?
USA is which. At random points in time, cant really think of anything specific ATM but I've been like "WTF is this telling me this in centimeters, wtf is it in inches?" Having used inches 99% of the time for everything. I know the stuff now but its just annoying to come across it when you're used to one way.

Yea so imperial isn't simpler, you're just not familiar with the other one (metric).

wurd proprly!

well if you didn't know either of these systems, and you'd be shown the units in both systems, then given the option to learn either the metric or the imperial, which one would you choose? The simpler one I assume, which in that case would be the metric: simpler numbers.

I have never heard of a decimeter in my life.
They aren't used much in the UK or Ireland for some reason. If you look on European cans or bottles of coke they're sometimes given in centilitres too.
