MGS4 is the only game that can save the PS3

It's almost likely Kojima will port this to 360. I think even he see's what a failure PS3 is setting itself up to be.
 
It would be a total selling point for me if this gets ported to the 360. <3 MGS.
 
Meh, Never liked the MGS games... so I couldn't care less.

Is there any actual gameplay ? I watched the first third but all I saw was a dodgy CG movie consisting of generic 'terrorists' shooting pathetically designed 'mechs' (Whatever the hell they're suppose to be).

Its been confirmed that's game play. The whole video is 100% in game footage.

I cant wait for this btw.
 
This is not the only good exclusive the PS3 has coming up, but it's definitely the best. Hell, it's the best upcoming game period. And that wasn't CG man.

As far as the PS3 goes, you guys need to stop kidding yourselves, it's not "losing" at all. It's selling better than the 360 was at this point in time. Eventually it will overtake the 360. The Wii is selling much better than both of them and will probably overtake the 360 very quickly, which is to be expected since it costs a lot less than both (also, the novelty might wear out soon so it probably won't stay on top of the sales). The PS3 is just a viable a platform to develop on as any.
 
mgs4 is the onyl reason to me to buy a ps3
sony should be licking kojima's balls to keep it only in ps3
and if it dont get ported to 360 or pc then blame yourself cuz a especial vertion of the second was released in xbox and pc but go low sales

also kojima productions should release atleast one litle new trailer cuz people is geting a bit desperate

btw what the **** is whit that music,it dont fit at all,the orignal music of the trilers is better,anyway thats some edited trailer

What are you serious? Back when the 360 came out it was hard to find any for a good few months, The same can't be said for the PS3 when you have Best buys, Circuit City's, and Targets with shelves full of em :|
 
If this comes to MGS4, the PS3 ship has officially sank.

Killzone 2 couldn't save it unless it manages to somehow magically be as good or better than Halo (no debating on whether you think Halo is good or not, it's irrelevant)... The first Killzone which was supposed to be "Halo-killer" didn't do so hot, so I doubt the second one will either.

*Edit* Kyo, Square Enix is doing multiple games for the Xbox360 and I wouldn't doubt it if even more of the Final Fantasy games come over to the 360.

Oh god, imagine if they somehow managed to put FF7 on the XBLA!!! *orgasm*

Square Enix are doing a bunch of off-shoots (i.e. Final Fantasy Crystal Chronocles) for the other consoles, but their flagship titles will be PS3 exclusive.

What about Sony Santa Monica (God of War...)? Insomniac games? Hideo Kojima Studios? Naughty Dog? Ico / Shadow of the Collosus team? Polyphony Digital? Team Soho? etc etc.

There's a lot more than just FF and MGS behind Sony, they just happen to be the flagship exclusives.
 
I still say give the console at least bare minimum world launch and a year or two before determining if it failed or not.

That's so funny I might piss my pants. Square must be mentally retarded to not at least offer FF7 as emulated title for the PSP. The odds of it hitting the PSP are incredibly low let alone Xbox. Theres also that new FF7 game for PSP at least.

Stereotyping aside I can't see your normal Xbox fan buying FF but I can see a normal PS fan doing so.

Just like theres more to the Xbox than Halo (I own a 360 it's great, PS3 hasn't launched here yet). Damn fanboys.
 
All the 'awesome' games and developers for the Playstation are mostly so meh to me.

I lost interest with FF when #10 was released, I don't care for God of War, MGS or many other games. The only reason I have a PS2 is because my brother got it for free (Though I would've bought one when they were quite cheap) and because of some games like FF, Shadow of Colossus, Ico and 1 or 2 others.

It's a good thing too, I wouldn't have to worry about getting a PS3 with it's cost ($1000AU), problems, etc - maybe in like ~ 1 year, I'll get one.

Thank goodness for Microsoft and Nintendo.
 
If I bought a PS3, I'd be stuck for what to buy. I'm not big on MGS, but 4 is the only thing that interests me and if that went, there's not a chance in hell Sony will see my monies.
 
Unless Sony offered Valve a billion dollars to make future Half-Life games PS3 only :p
 
It's sold 1.5 million and isn't even out in Europe yet. Is anyone else not seeing any problem whatsoever?

The PS2 is still outselling the 360, and the Wii and PS3 will also outsell the 360 in their lifetimes.
 
honestly I dont think the ff games will sell well on xbox360 cuz sure big porcentage of 360 dont like japanese games cuz they steriotipe it as the gay characters weird stuff japanese thing
 
The FF games for 360 will sell well in Japan since American companies always have a hard time selling stuff there.

The PS3 has a lot more going for it down the pike...the stuff just isn't out yet, so I and many others just aren't buying it. It will likely see a price drop before any of the really awesome games release anyway, so that's even better. Its not like the 360 or the Wii have all that many killer apps yet either. Give it time man!! Great games and great exclusives for every system are coming right up!!

That's because Sony was able to deliver more units than MS was. Remember the 360 launch? It was terrible - it took them months before they got a steady shipment coming in, and it turned out a lot of those consoles only had a 1 year lifespan. Just because you couldn't find them doesn't necessarily mean that it was selling remarkably well. You can't find Wii's because they got sold the second they got put on the shelf, you couldn't find a 360 because they were never there in the first place. Big difference.

The PS3 had very few units in the first month but picked up soon after that, and now there is adequate supply for the demand. It is selling significantly better than the 360 was at this point in time. It is an almost unavoidable certainty that the PS3 will at some time overtake the 360. The question is how much of the lead Sony will be able to maintain, not whether or not they "failed". Of course the Wii is a wildcard, it could very well fizzle out in a matter of months or attain Ipod like popularity, beating them both.

And once again, MGS4 is not the only great game coming out for PS3. Resistance is already out - one of the best console FPS games I've played, certainly beats the hell out of games like Halo and Killzone that people usually praise. Motorstorm is coming out soon, judging by the demo it's a great racing game. Warhawk and Lair both look to be very impressive as well. Then there's that Naughty Dog game which is bound to be one of the best damn games ever. Insomniac is bring out another Ratchet and Clank. The ICO/Shadow team is working on something. There will be a new Getaway coming out. Eventually you'll see God of War 3. And of course, MGS4.

That's not even counting the games like FFXIII, Devil May Cry, Killzone 2 and Gran Turismo that I couldn't give a shit about. The system definitely has a strong lineup.

The 360 has good games too: Mass Effect, Bioshock ... whatever else. But those games almost always wind up on PC. I'm not knocking the 360, it's a find console ... but the fact that so many of its' games end up coming to PC makes it not quite worth it to me.

In all honesty, if something like the PS3 was coming from a company other then Sony, I probably would buy it in an instant.

The thing that is killing the PS3 isn't the difficulty to code for it or even the propriatary media (I personally think Bluray is leagues ahead of HD-DVD), it's Sony's arrogance, stupidity and sheer kack-handed way in which they've handelled the development and launch of it.

Sony have made me hate them, and by association, their products. May their PR agents, make that all PR agents, burn in hell.

Agreed. Sort of. The last launch that I remember being completely awesome was the SNES. Launches have pretty much stunk after that unfortunately and things certainly didn't change with this next round of consoles. These new games are so much more complex that a much bigger amount of time is needed with the system before something truly great can release, hence at least a year after launch or more for titles like Gears of War. There will be stellar fscking games for all of these platforms, but not til later this year and well into the next 5 or so. :(

If anything, game play is one of the last things you should be worried about when it comes to MGS...

But you're right, although I think this is more a teaser / hype to show how far they've come and the minimum expectations graphics-wise (certainly to improve).
