Michael Moore vs Fred Phelps

hahaha, he got pwned!

Michael Moore FTW, have his books and videos! Even though im not American or stepped a foot in America since i was 6 years old lol

I would've loved to know that this was going on so I could watch the sodomobile drive by and give Phelps hell. That would've made my day.

Heh, that was awesome. How come I never saw that, I'm usually aware of what Moore's up to.

Michael Moore should be a role model for everyone. That guy gets things done!

I don't like Michael More... but Fred Phelps, and all of the members of that Westboro church thing... are FAR worse.

He should keep that up though... follow Fred Phelps and the westboro people around everywhere they go. Outside their homes, everything. Give em a taste of their own medicine. Non stop harrassment.

Ahaha, whatever you think of Michael Moore, that stupid old coot deserved it.

"Don't get too close or I'll call the po-lice!"

I really dislike Michael Moore, but that was ****ing awesome.

i don't care about gays one way or another, not my business. but i'd love to show up there with them holding a sign that said

"God hates ignorant, intolerant assholes even more than he hates fags"

Hah, Moore should stick to stuff like this. Because he sucks at everything else.

Although, damn, they sure are showing such stereotypical gays. Its kind of offensive somwehat.

Oh well, this was pretty hilarious. What show was this in?

I love Michael Moore. And it's cool that I live so close to him.

Yeah. It's a shame though.

Why do you guys dislike Michael Moore?

He's a liberal propoganda machine. He's the Ann Coulter of liberals. Well...not to that extreme. Alex Jones would be more of the Ann Coulter of liberals.

But, he did good here. GG Moore.

Has he lost weight...

That and he makes really biased documentaries which don't make good points at all. He's a sensationalist and a rabid propaganda machine, as Dem said.

But this was great. :)

I don't like Michael Moore but seeing him rip a new one into Fred Phelps (A man I would myself beat nearly to death without hesitation) is great

This guy loves picketing funerals and harassing grieving family members, from AIDS victims to fallen US Soldiers.

Yep. The Westboro church members are scum.

People dislike him as a person for his views (if they're conservative) or his man of the people style (liberal 'intelligentsia')
me I like him - he's refreshing in his light hearted approach
his style may verge on what might be deemed propaganda but it's 90%+ of the time the raw truth.

I always got the impression that Stern disliked him, forget why. Shed some light please mein Kapitan

no ...I've always liked him, been following his career since he released Roger and Me ..even though he's a poor man's version of a political activist, he's still affective in bringing important issues to the "masses"

I agree with Stern, except that I thinks his methods of doing so are often really irresponsible and far too influenced by his own politics.

However, siccing one fool on another is perfectly awesome in my book. :D

I see him more or less like O'Reilly of the leftwingers, so I don't like him all that much. Both of them don't mind to purposefully lie to get their point across, it may be effective for the moment but in the end it degrades their point of view more then helps it.

I think moore gets a lot of flap for being irresposible but I find it funny that most people who say that (I dont mean you, just people who are diametrically opposed to him) ignore the fact that their sources of "real" journalism are far more biased or in some cases so deviate from the truth that pretty much everything can be discounted just to be on the safe side (I'm looking at you fox"news")

oh and Oreilly presents his news as "facts" ...moore produces documentaries ...a world of difference ..also Moore doesnt consciously lie, he may present it in such a way that it seems like he's being dishonest but he's just putting in his 2 cents worth ..which isnt that big of deal because not once does he present himself as a journalist

O'Reilly on the other hand ...

I don't see how comparing him to super-bad journalists and newscasters has anything to do with how he is a bad documentaryist (? :p ?) himself.

His two main movies, Columbine and 9/11, are so sensationalized and such propagandous garbage that I choked on some air while watching them. He doesn't lie, but he is great at taking things out of context and he is great at ignoring lots of things.

There is like a twenty minute segment about how canadians don't lock their front doors during the day, but Americans do in Bowling for Columbine. What he does to prove this is go around opening Canadian's doors. Does he do this in an American city to compare? No. All he does is say "See, Americans are so much more paranoid than Canadians!" when he has no basis for this argument. I live in America. During the day, I don't lock my door, and no one I know does, either.

I'm just as against one biased source as another, regardless of politics.

your own government spewed far more propaganda bullshit, your own media did far worse yet Moore is the villian here ...it boggles the mind that people are so quick to judge moore for is info-tainment documentary and yet ignore when people in positions of authority outright lie

did you watch the movie? did you notice the man's distrustful look as soon as he open his door? I live close to where Moore conducted that interview and I lock my doors ..but Ialso know other people who dont ..He wasnt presenting it as fact, he presented it as a possible explanation as to why canadians in general feel more secure than americans

Actually I compared him to O'Reilly! Just saying you know:cheese:

Welcome to 1911. We already knew that :|.

really? hmmmm if that's true then it makes the fact that bush was elected a second time even more troubling

That was his old show 'The Awful Truth.' It actually predates Bowling for Columbine.

I've only got Fahrenheit 911, but he manages to put serious and funny issues together.

WTF
"Morrocco wasn't an official member of the coalition, but they did offer to send 1000s of monkeys to Iraq to set off land mines"

You realize the electoral college decides who wins the election right?

so you're saying that the public didnt vote for bush?

They obviously have influence, but they don't directly decide. If 9/11 hadn't happened, no one would've considered Bush again. But, its proven people prefer Conservative candidates during times of crisis. Reagan and Thatcher's administrations for example.
