Mirror's Edge review.

I rented it, and I'm glad I did because I now know not to buy it. It would be a much better game were it not for the frustrating combat sections. They are just stupidly hard. I got stuck at one section in chapter 7 where you have to get through no less than ten blues in a row, including four assault riflemen and two machine gunners. I like the running part of the game, and turning off runner's vision makes it more puzzle like, which I enjoy. The horrible combat just kills it though.

I didn't hate it that much O_O

although to be fair the story is one of the worst I can remember playing in quite some time.

I dislike the combat. I'd prefer for the next game to have the opportunity to stealth or run past ALL enemies. Not just the ones you are supposed to run past.

Otherwise it's the perfect game to me. Not too long that I can never be bothered to complete it (Far Cry 2) and challenging enough that I don't just get bored (Fable 2).

I liked it. Time trial is very enjoyable, worst part of the game was the combat, of course. I don't know what's with all the haters, I loved it, honestly. I bought it.

The part I ultimately gave up on was in chapter 5 (I think), in a multi-level section of a mall. When I first came in, there were two cops with pistols and one with a machine gun to contend with. No problem, I disarmed one of the pistol guards and shot the other two. However, the jump I had to execute afterwards was needlessly obscure (you couldn't see the bar you were supposed to grab until the last second), and I fell to my death. So it respawns me at the same checkpoint, and for some reason now I'm facing four guards, all fully armoured, all with machine guns every time I spawn. What the ****? And the one time I manage to take them all out, by the time I get back up to the jumping puzzle, more have spawned and shoot my helpless ass as Faith is awkwardly adjusting on the beam to line up a jump.

**** it. :|

No matter how many bad things im hearing, i cant wait for the PC version!

See all this is why the flash version is far superior to the retail one.

I finished it today. Not sure if it even was 7 hours total, probably more like 4-5.

I enjoyed it, but wouldn't want to pay the full price for it (my brother borrowed it from a friend). I liked the gameplay and the visuals. Got stuck in a few parts or had to redo some a few times, but nothing really frustrating and if so, for a short time.

I don't understand how the combat was excessively hard - you either run past the enemies, or when it's impossible, lure one of them behind a corner or something, disarm him (not hard to time that right, especially if you use slo-mo), and shoot the remaining baddies with his gun (strafing from behind cover, taking a few shots and moving to cover once again). Not that hard IMHO.

All in all an interesting concept, but could use further development.

Wow, game looks ****ing fantastic. Much better then I expected. If I also enjoy the core game play I
imagine the 7 hours of this game giving me more pleasure and leaving a more memorable experience
then many other games.

Lol jokes on you 4 hour game.
