Truth be told, while I've been 'at it' for a long time... even years, I've only really started any serious studying with minimal procrastination a couple months ago. And there still has been some heavy procrastination. Just not on the scale of before. Basically trying to learn K-12 education before the end of the year, considering I knew almost nothing from the years of school I did take(failed frequently because I refused to study and always hid my homework behind my dresser), and nothing from the entirety of high school that I did not spend one day in(only ever finished 8th grade).

So... yeah.


The thing that's really been holding me back, at least recently, is ****ing biology. I can't get through this ****ing book. It's painful to read, and I keep losing my concentration. Reading paragraphs again and again and again.

Do what I do when I study for tests - Don't study.

Funny thing is that I'm serious, I always get high 80's, low 90's and have only ever studied for like 5 tests in my life. I'm naturally smart (in school stuff) and don't nurse the talent at all. If I actually studied alot, I'd honestly be really ****ing smart.

Or do like I did in high school - selective study. My last year at school I missed basically half the year and couldn't be arsed going through a friend's notes or something, so I just studied like crazy on the notes I had. As a result I absolutely aced like 3 out of 5 sections on all my exams, and failed the rest horribly.

Still got basically the best marks in class, probably owing to the fact that I slacked horribly the year prior and landed myself in the dunce class.

Edit - Why am I using the word dunce? We didn't even use it in school... I have no idea where I picked it up from.

Holy crap man.

For chemistry, do a lot of practice problems. Try to memorize the charges/oxidation states on all the elements (like Ca is +2)... if you look at the periodic table, this should not be too difficult since elements in the same column tend to have the same properties, except for the metals which might have 2 or 3 oxidation states.

For biology, drawing diagrams helps with learning the cell parts and also with some of the processes (like DNA/RNA and respiration).

Ahhh, don't sweat it. When I worked my previous jobs 5 am - 2 pm shifts I went home one day, fell asleep and woke up at 4:30 pm.
