Mod Idea

Hello People,
This is my first post on the forums,ive been coming here quite alot but i havent registered untill tonight..

I was thinking about a mod today and i was thinking about sharing the idea with the rest because i would like to hear what you think about it.
If people like the idea i will probably start off this mod with the help of interested people

Well the idea is a stunt mod for HL2,sounds boring? ok lets me go into details and maybe it won't sound so boring after all

Solo stunt gameplay and team stunts

Example of a map i was thinking about:

your 2 teams and start off in a headquarters on this tropical paradise island,just outside you have a small airstrip where theres a plane landing and taking off every XX minutes and flyes around the island where you can either try to hit marked spots jumping out in a parachute or do stunts in the air.
on the airstrip you have a loading section where you can get your gear and wait for the plane to arrive with a timer post or something,get into your gear (to get parachute gear you will have to emty your gearspot in your inventory)

the meaning would be to get more points than the other team and earn awards for special stunts... eg. your team gets a bonus and gets a better parachute gear so you can then do other types of stunts which also means better points.

If you dont want to do parachuting you could always take a beachbuggy and cruise around and use the landscape to do big jumps and stunts to earn some score...

theres a few things i dont know about yet and that is if you have a parachute could you actually make it behave like a parachute in real life and say a guy in the air bumps into your chute while its open can you make it get wrapped up and the other guy with the chute open plunge to the ground.
also it would be nice with a 0.X% chance of the chutes not working to add more spice into it.

to add even more spice into it,there could always be a gameplay with weapons where you can shoot while doing stunts and tryint to make the other team lose points etc.

this would probably be a bit for one of the first versions and in later versions there could be other types of maps and stunts,like cities...rooftop stunts,or river stunts etc etc.

ive been thinking about this alot and i believe it would be interesting,but what do you people say?
i would also need some help with the mod because im not very good at much except mapping which i could probably do...

as for now HL2 isnt out and i have time to sort more out,but im wondering if theres interest in a mod like this...

please comment and add stuff you would like to see

maybe you should consider this as a sp mod? the idea sounds cool, but i think there arent many ppl who wan't to compete by making stunts and not touching/shooting each other. that's not y they are going to buy hl2

so there would be a weapons gameplay probably,for times when you want some blood and gore.
Ruin the other teams parachutes with your MP5PDW and watch them plunge to the ground hitting some trees on the way.

could add alot of weapons to make it gory aswell
Capture The flag could also be a game mode
and objectives

theres many possabilities

oh and SP mod...nah i think MP would be the way to go,its more fun playing around with "human" players than the AI though the AI looks promising in HL2,i dunno maybe another feature for the mod,but dont count on SP for the time being

well..ok, now it sounds interesting . but maybe a kinda "deathmatch" would be cool, also? everyone tries to make the best stunts and gets better weapons/equipment this way.

remember the mod isnt in the makings yet and i really like to get ideas from you people to make it a reality and make this mod something worth playing

<-- still learning to code c++ ..the winapi is kinda difficult . gotta get the level editor too . last time i made maps for hl was for day of defeat. then i made bf1942 maps . so i doubt i'd be of any use atm.

another idea. not for the mod, basically some artwork. draw some things like weapons, or your ideas for stunt vehicles/equipment. that'st the first thing i start mapping with usually i use my french lessons for planing buildings, bridges..even whole layouts for maps. a pitty that i got rid of my french class.
