Monitor question

I am soon buying a new computer and I wasn't too sure about which monitor to get. I was thinking of getting a

17" Viewsonic E70F+SB with a maximum resolution of 1280X1024 @ 67hz, with a dot pitch of .21 horizontal, .25 diagonal.

or a 19" Viewsonic E90 with a maximum resoltuion of 1600X1200 @68hz (1280 x 1024 @ 80Hz) and a dot pitch of 0.23mm (horizontal), 0.27mm (diagonal).

I have no clue how much hz is good for a monitor and i also don't know much about dot pitch, so tell me what you guys think.

80 hz or more is OK.
.25 or less dot pitch is OK.

I would definatelly go with the 19" though. Bigger is always better when it comes to monitors.

that's what you said in your last post, and its not true.

would running at a resolution say at 60hz or something slow down performance? Like what kinda of effect does the monitors hz have?

if you have vsync enabeled (which makes things look MUCH NICER imo) vsync aligns your FPS to the refresh rate of your monitor.

I'm running in 60hz, I could go up to 130, but I never bothered to change it. Should I?

You shougd run at max refresh that you monitor/gfx card can handle. maxs things much, much easier on the eyes.

So would i be fine with the 17" Viewsonic E70F+SB? and about vsync, is it on all the newer monitors and how do I enable it? I'm no monitor expert so throw all the details you want at me.

i just got the e90f sb
its really good
very clear with no problems
great features and picture
