If it hurts to read it then don't worry about it. I've been there.

I feel the same way when I read things about car specific abreviations of cars that I'm not familiar with.

Disturbed knows what I'm talking about and thats all that matters in this case.

Like I said, upgrade stuff as it wears out, so when the turbo starts to die I'm going to get a this hybrid turbo I saw (can't remember the name) but it supposedly had turbo lag somewhere in the range of the T2 but with more power than the 16g! I think it was ball bearing. Whats your take on that? Ball bearing or no?

I have no issues will ball bearing, seeing as I see Supra's with gigantinormis turbos use them all day long and dyno about 20 times with the same amount of power or more :p

Cool,

Yea I'd like a Huge turbo but I think i'll be fine with 350 to an eventual 500 HP for my Eclipse. That way I don't have to buy all that expensive extra extreme stuff. just bolt on the turbo and hit the road.

Besides those huge turbos are no use on the street, I would never be able to spool it up.

(turbo) LAG FROM HELL.

BTW if you paint the car, get a 300$ paint job and sell it soon after. Any paint job under $1800 is going to be shiner than a new car for the first couple days then fade to not-very-shiney in about a month. Thats what I did with my RX-7 (paint it black... WOW!)

It will look awesome for whoever wants to buy it, then you can do it all over again with your next car (a faster more reliable one)

Yeah, I think black is the best color for a 2nd gen...though red and white aren't too far behind..mm

You know why black looks so hot? Because the tail lights on that car have a black frame. So if the car is black, the tail lights blend in and it makes the car look much more modern IMO.

Also a little trick I discovered:

Is the black plastic trim piece around your taillights cracked from ages in the sun?

I put a bit of Wet-n-black on a paper towel (any wet-look tire shine liquid should work) and lightly run your finger wrapped in the paper towel over this black trim and it will look brand new. you can use this stuff on the door trim and the black trim inside your pop-up headlights and the windshield wiper trim as well. Makes it awesome for a week or two since it attempts to repel rain as well.

Just apply it everytime after you wash your car.

I still can't recommend painting the car and tinting the windows if it has a shifting problem. I painted my car and then I wrecked mine because I was intoxicated... , got it fixed then the transmission broke and i sold it for $500 so I could get new tires for my new eclipse. Of course if I didn't paint it, maybe I wouldn't have got but $50 for it.. so I don't know

I admit you guys know more about VWs and DSMs than I, and I could probably talk your ear off about Subarus and what you can do to them and the block designations and valve lift duration, bores and strokes, their various problems, and even their origins in this country.

But the fact of the matter is, unless you dump a wad of cash into your car from time to time, it just isn't that great.

Maybe I just have really high standards because of the (90s) car I drive.
---------

One thing; if i had to take back everything I think about 80s cars, I would say the 88 Lotus Espirit is a damn fine piece of machinery, as well as few others, but as a general rule, 80s cars are not to be trifled with unless you have a great expense account or are gettinga great deal on something that has been maintained very well, because any car can be good if it is properly maintained and upgraded, even factory shite ones.
