More glass problems

1. Applied A tools/toolsnodraw
2. Applied A glass/glasswindowbreak070a
3. Didnt change a setting, and it does look like the glass in Cs_Office, But when u shoot it, it doesnt have those little crack marks, insted, it just has glass.

aye, but maybe you got the wrong one

btw, when you applied the glass texture, did you apply it to one side only, leaving the other sides with nodraw?
 
the side that had the glass on it ( 1 side ) and hte toolsnodraw on it ( 1 side )

but reavon1 or w.e said that u should use that texture in the other topic?
 
func_breakable_surf - A breakable surface works only with special textures ie the aformentioned glass texture.

btw theres a little thing called lighting that can make all the difference when it comes to the appearance of a surface.
 
You used func_breakable instead of func_breakable_surf, aye?
 
your doing tie to entity right?...not just placing the entity?
 
you said 1 side has nodraw and the other has glass....when there are actually six sides to a block. make 5 sides nodraw and 1 into the window and see where that gets you.

Yes, we all want office glass that doesn't break in one shot. Alas.

You get breakable strong glass or shatterable weak glass.

Yes, that (as laid out several times in this thread) is func_breakable_surf.
 
everytime i do func_breakable_surf it just shatters and breaks, and this cracks, can u tell me the setting for w.e to make it look like that?

Well, I guess It could be a tad hard to follow if you were a complete moron. A vmf isn't going to help anyone if they don't understand what is going on. Oh, and try reading the new Wiki, you might learn something.

The guy has shown that he knows what's going on but still can't get it to do what he wants. I would not have blindly provided an example map. Explanation comes first; then, more explanation, with pictures if necessary.

I'm not trying to be a prick or anything, but the new official Valve wiki is quite well done.

Why don't you like them?
 
Yeah, but it doesn't work for func_breakable_surf. For some reason, it's intended behavior. "If we take damage and we're not broken, break" or something along those lines.
 
I made it the way it's been said many, many times in this thread to make it: one face glass/glasswindowbreak070a (the Interlopers link says glass/offwndwb works too), five faces nodraw, func_breakable_surf.
 
Only if you want some sort of special effect not provided by default.
