For mechanical stuff, I'd say the turrets and the curiosity sphere.

The headcrabs are pretty cute the way they waddle when just walking. And then when they seemingly randomly jump at you, miss, and run into the doorway. Oh! One of my favorite little parts in HL2 is when you come around through this electrified train car (? big metal cargo box thing), and a headcrab thing lands right there. One by one they jump out, slam into the electrified cargo thing and bounce off, dead.

But. I voted Vortigaunt. They are very adorable, especially when Alyx kisses that one and he shakes his head a little. <3 AWW <3 -^_^-

And I still don't get it. They are possibly one of my most hated enemies. It's possibly the fact that even if they fire a seemingly random spurt of acid at you, one just somehow manages to find its way to you. Could never ever think of them as adorable.
