aw, come on guys, everyone knows the NeoTokyo team is the one churning out the highest quality content ;) (not to mention being more original than the countless war\counterterrorist mods\games out there)

It's all about your taste in games.

I think LGW has a great big chance to pull away with this one because WWII games/mods have such a large fanbase. See, people don't like change ;)

what will LGW offer that you haven't seen in CoD, DoD, MoHAA, Invasion 1944, TTR or RO?

I cant find a mod that really interests me in the list. I know a few guys doing mods without showing it, and its those mods i like the best (Like Fenrics mod and a mod called Verus).

When is the "Most Anticipated Singleplayer Mod" contest? I want my mod up and running before then :)

to be brief

Extreme historical accuracy, extremely realistic gameplay (no more railguns), constant expansion with new nations never seen before in a WW2 game (USA did a lot but they weren't the only ones fighting :)) and a full, character driven, single player campaign with a setup at least I have never seen before.

and more, but I'm mainly concerned with the visual side of things, maybe Mith or B0B would like to add.

Have you played Red Orchestra? It seems to me that's what you're describing. It is completely historically accurate, very realistic, and focuses on the Eastern Front. I look forward to the SP campaign though. I know that SP takes a long time though... The only real nations in WW2 that have not been covered so far I think, are the Chinese, Bulgarians, Norwegians, Hungarians, Fins (except the Finnish will be in FAW). Good luck though, I know the Eastern Front was hard enough to do accurately, I'm sure it'll be only harder for even more rare fronts.

I dont like to see LGW described as 'extremely accurate' and extremely realistic. There will probably other mods more a lot realistic than LGW, but we'll feel realistic enough.

With our site going up soon, and the sdk only days away, we're going to do our best to look and feel unique.

http://www.lastgreatwar.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1591 < I suppose thats the best answer to 'what' lgw consists of, its the 'welcome mat' for visitors.

I lost my ut2k3 cd, never got to playing RO yet; and I'm not entirely fond of CoD

Cold War: Melting Point is gonna be great. That sh!t looks hot.

damn man, where is no more room in hell...? Please put that up....

btw shouldn't this be in the general section, wouldn't it get many more votes?

yeha I know... I asked that powers that be to put it there, and i got turned down... maybe i'll make a redirect in general... hmm.... :)

Whatever is popular tactical and created in a timely fasion with a mod team that cares enough about their mod to continously upgrade it. So I can't vote yet :flame:

I think Jedi: Timeline will be great, partly because I ma hooked on KoTOR.

All I'm waiting for is TF2! Have been for 4 years...

LGW all the way....(this is cleric from lgw boards)

To the red orchestra comment: RO is on an old(ish) engine...maybe not old, but not as good as hl2. Also....RO has 2 nations...germany, russia. LGW will have like 6? 7? 8? I forget.

Im not on the mod team or anything, but i think the realism point of this mod is to be realism-realism...let me explain. You know all the rainbow six games right? Raven Shield most recently, and games like ghost recon. These are realism games, but not a huge group of people like them. The movement is so bad in these games it becomes unrealistic. Like you feel staggared(sp) when you move, and you move like a 90 year old grandma when you try to straff. Come on, thats not realistic...So im saying that im pretty sure LGW wont be like those so called "realism games" where they try to make things so realistic they just end up making them unrealistic.......blah.

LGW, to be brief, offers intensive, immersive, absorbing multiplayer and single player that's not only visually appealing but mentally stimulating with enough variety to keep the player involved more because they want to be rather than a lack of anything else to do. LGW will contain over 90 WW2 weapons (some never seen in games before), over eight nations, historically accurate battles with specific attention payed to the units involved, player operated vehicles, and realistically modeled gameplay. Because of gameplay, players will be heavily inclined to cooperate (even on public servers), and an emphasis will be placed on squad and fireteam tactics

some key features to look forward to:

- weapons with realistic breathing simulation, recoil simulation, sighting (iron sights), and bullet ballistics
- original sounds and voice acting
- player controlled heavy weapons: flamethrowers, realistic machine guns, towed artillery, trench mortars, flak guns, and anti air guns
- player cooperation: the ability to direct player controlled artillery fire, coordinate fireteam movement, and call in air support
- in game graphic interfaces for skilled tasks: setting explosives, picking locks, medical work, etc.
- player controlled vehicles with hit boxes and mountable locations
- historically accurate maps
- the ability to construct and repair fortifications

snipers will no longer be the dominant class, and machine guns will be something to be feared. because of bullet ballistics and aiming simulation, players will no longer be able to jump out from behind corners and pop a shot into a machine gunner before he has time to respond. sniping will take a fair amount of practice and skill, but it will not be impossible to do.

skilled tasks, such as setting explosives and picking locks and such, will be quite complex, as will some weapons. LGW plans on implementing an offline training / familiarization system which will allow players to select a particular special task (for example, the use of explosives), provide an explanation on how it works, and allow players to practice using it whenever they wish. the same applies to basic familiarization for new players

Op:COIN RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
VOTE FOR IT
I haven't actually looked at all these mods, but the one that I think will be the coolest is Entropy. An *almost* massively-multiplayer gang warfare mod with NPC civilians, vehicles, cops and the ability to buy buildings... :E

Now I know its for MP mods, but the poll says Most Anticipated Mod...people might get the wrong impression about the poll. Personally, I havent looked at enough MP mods to anticipate many of them, my mod may be MP, but based on SP play.

Umm yeah Ill have to look around and then decide.

Yea, when I was choosing between mods to join it was in between LGW and Op:Co-In, but I was sick of WW2 so I went to Op:Co-In. I look forward to LGW though.

Well, its great to have ideas... but its better to have realistic ideas.

Im not 100% if you can pull off everything they want. Like building/buying houses, massive cities and so on...

my favorite mod hands down would be Op Coin (after my own, LGW), and I like quite a few other mods, but OpCoin seems to be doing terrific

would please be possible to have Armed Forces up on the vote please :)

There was a thread open for nominations the other week.

And Sidewinder, I think you'll find that I voted CW:MP my associate buddy :)

Oh, and I'd like to say that www.oes-mod.org isn't up yet, so goto www.bioproductions.co.uk/shadow for our site.

Plus... I don't mind if OES doesn't have mass appeal, I'm seeking to create something that means a lot to a few people, not something that means a little to a lot of people ;)

Neotokyo for me, its got a very unique feel to it :) And it looks awesome :D

I miss the options: CS2, TF2, NS(ported to the hl2 engine) what about these?

:O only 8 votes for corporate anarchy :p I am guessing u havn't read are design document. It will be such a big suprise :D I can't wait. its a pitty I have to wait like 1 year :((
