Do any of you have it? I want to know so we can play together!

There is no NDA, and I have received an invitation to the beta, and have played some today.

I took about 30 minutes of in game footage of me playing, and am in the process of rendering it out and uploading it to youtube right now.

So far all I have played is deathmatch, since there are problems with the team deathmatch servers. I have to say though, what I have played is exactly what I expected mount & blade multiplayer to be like, at least in the sense of how deathmatch would be.

You'll be able to see my experiences once I post the youtube videos as I upload them.

EDIT: Shit... mount & blade warband was delayed until early 2010? God dammit...


EDIT: blegh I'm going to wait until tomorrow to post the video links since the quality right now is absolutely terrible. Hopefully HD will kick in once they finish getting processed.
 
Alright here are some videos of me playing earlier in the day. The first three have been already converted to HD, the other three are still either processing, or are uploaded and are still processing. Was recorded with fraps at 1280x960 resolution 30fps. I hope the quality on the HD is high enough. My uploads never seem to be truly HD no matter what I do.

It's all raw gameplay footage. No editing of any sort.

And if I remember correctly, it is absolute maximum graphics settings, which aren't fully represented in the video do to some lossy quality. Corpses are set to unlimited, and a LOT of corpses end up piling up by the ends of both of these videos! Cool to see.

Looks epic. Just the sort of thing to get me playing again.
 
Looks great, I'm interesting in how they improve SP and modding support since some mods are epic.

Man I was playing Prophesy of Pendor mod. First mod I played since The Last Days.

The Prophesy of Pendor mod is amazing. I love it anyway. Well well over 100 hours invested in it and i'm getting close to beating it with my kingdom that I built.

Anyway... I had the chance to play Capture the Flag, Battle, and Team Deathmatch modes today. Team Deathmatch is much like you'd expect. It's almost as chaotic as regular deathmatch with people spread out, but you have teams.

Battle is like a round of Counterstrike. Two teams spawn and move to fight each other and when you die you don't respawn. Once one team wins or time runs out, the match ends and if it wasn't a draw from time running out, the winning team gets a point. Pretty fun game mode, especially sounds matches are pretty quick.

And Capture the Flag is a really fun game mode, from what I've played. I'm not a big capture the flag fan at all, but in this game it's a lot of fun. You have your ground troops which are usually for defense... hanging around the flag and spearing incoming enemy horses and whatever other units. You then have your horsemen who are effective at riding towards the enemy flag and lancing or otherwise killing people, getting off their horses to pick up the flag and hopping back on before racing back to the capture area hoping to stay alive by not taking a javelin/lance/arrow in the back.

Definitely lots of fun.
 
Here's a video from another beta tester for the Battle game mode. There's so few beta testers it seems that the server usually only has 20 people or so in it(from a cap of 32) and everybody are regulars.
 
I believe they tossed out some more invites today, so if you signed up previously, check your e-mail.

And... 64 player servers :D

I just wish we had enough beta testers right now to have them filled out frequently. I haven't gotten the chance to play in one yet. Only ever played with about 25 people before.

EDIT: Man... 64 player servers are awesome! We got one completely filled up and it was sweet!

Oh and apparently there will not be any coop campaign.

Apparently they've been saying that all along, that they can't do it, and I just hadn't read it before.

This thread is making me laugh quite a bit.

Anyway, the game doesn't look too good from the those videos, but who am I to judge. I've never played it nor heard of it before.

If you're a fan of Mount & Blade, you will absolutely love the Mount & Blade Multiplayer.

If you're not a fan of Mount & Blade, the Multiplayer won't increase your favorability of the game.


To be honest, since 2005 Mount & Blade has been one of the most refreshing games I've ever played. I've always come back to it, time and time and time again to enjoy the great fun that the game provides.
 
I've been playing Mount and Blade all day but I'm dying to play some multiplayer. For $30 is Warband worth it?? this game is so addicting
 
it adds a few things to the sp game like a new faction and an expanded map and a bunch of new features and updated graphics. I havent touched the mp since release but played it during beta. it's fun

currently lvl 27 and comanding an army of 100 warriors + 200 or so soldiers in my castles, half of them are calvary; we're nigh invinclible. I have 4 castles and a main city under my rule. thinking of renouncing my oath of alligiance and becoming sole ruler of my lands

it's really addictive
 
Wait for a deal unless you feel like buying the same game twice.
 
^ What he said. Until mod support gets to the stage it's at with M&B vanilla, it's not worth it unless you're into the multiplayer.

The multi can be great, but the skill roof is HUGE so expect initial frustration. If you've been playing long enough (and some people have), you can be practically unkillable.

most of that is useless/not that big of a problem in M&B. it all seems to be mods that make the single player easier

I can see that being useful but I dont do those sorts of quests anyways
 
You don't push cattle, you herd them.
 
i heard the mod community is great, can anyone recommend me some M&B mods?? if so how do they install?? just like a normal mod?

I saw a youtube video for a mod with pirates. Looked incredible as the boats pulled together and the players swung from ropes to the opposite boat.
