Ever since I defragged my computer a few days ago, my mouse problems that were preexisting have been amplified to infuriating lengths (to note, I had this problem in a minor scale on a different mouse many months ago, which made me rage and get a new mouse to no avail).

First let me attempt to describe it for I do not know how I could properly articulate it into a few words to define what it is.

As I move the mouse, particularly when I click as I move, the mouse will skip pixels or stop following for a split second.

This is clearly evident if I just sit in the desktop and make huge circles with the mouse. To maintain the same circle in the same area, I will have to move the mouse.

I am using vista, Razer Imperator, with 6/11 mouse sensitivity, no mouse accel, with 1200 dpi with 500 hz polling rate.

I have also tried using different USB ports.

What the **** is the problem with this old POS computer?

Hm.. I used to have this problem with another mouse of mine that I had to stop using because of it. Well, it wasn't that when I would click or anything, but when I moved the mouse was a jagged piece of shit. Try turning down the polling rate and see what happens. I could never get mine to fix so I really have no other help for you sadly. Mine was a Microsoft Habu which is a joint adventure from MS and Razer. Great comfortable mouse. Shit sensor.

Never have I ever heard of a mouse that doesn't have problems or does not eventually fail or break for some reason.

They really should start making mouses that dont suck dick

Are your drivers and firmware up to date?

EDIT after reading what I typed: Have you tried another mouse? :p

This kind of issue can have to do with having your RAM being faulty/set incorrectly(or not being 100% compatible).
It might sound a bit unlikely, but on my old PC I once tried mixing 2 types of ram which would work correctly seperately, but together I couldn't find a stable setting and kept getting issues like audio stutter, mouse stutter(!), and generally very slow performance while the PC didn't give any errors.
I would try each of your RAM sticks seperately and look if it solves the problem.

Both rams are the same

drivers are up to date

guys, this problem was very minor, but it worsened after a defrag, its not like it was always there with my current pc config
