Movies everyone loved that you didn't.

Bladerunner - too slow for me, I fell asleep watching it (although I was kinda tired)

I can appreciate the awesomeness of the visuals though, especially considering when it was made.

Same here, I may give it another try though.

Oh yeah, forgot Blade Runner, it started off moving too fast then when it got to the action it moved too slow

it was like HEGOESTOFINDTHEROBOTSANDTHENFINDSOUTWHERETHEAREBUTTHEN he drove in his ship, listening to some light jazz kinda kicking back, oh by the way I think it was a rather brisk night, worth wearing a coat for.....

Like that, but with robots

I can' dislike a movie for how long it is. The more the better, I say. I pay up to £10 for a DVD, and for the most part its 2 hours or something. Hell, less. I loved the LOTR films because I was getting alot for my money. Sounds fine to me. Then again, I loved every minute of the films because I loved every page of the books, and I thought Jackson did a great job.

As for movies I don't like that others seem to really like;

Donnie Darko.
Memento (whoa non-linear thats extreem!!1)
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (''You have to be smart and clever to watch this clever and intellectual film narf narf narf'' - I think this is the one people rave on about being really clever anyway)

Napoleon Dynamite. The amount of times I hear "Gosh!" makes me feel like going Columbo on my school.

I can't stand Kill Bill. Anyone really like that here?

Those are really good movies, even I can't understand why people would dislike those :(

You liked the '89 Batman? Or are you saying that Forever was worst than 89?

I'm saying that regardless of how one feels about '89 Batman, it trounces Forever like a bitch in nearly every regard. It gouges out its eyeballs and shoves them up the ass so it can get one last good look at its beating heart before '89 whips out its erect penis and vigorously penetrates an open chest cavity and bursts the poor, flaccid muscle. And then he dismembers the corpse and cooks it into a delicious pie, feeding it to Forever's family.

:O
...I don't know what to say to that. Would "BAM" work? Touche? I'm SOL?

I got nothin'

I can't stand Kill Bill. Anyone really like that here?

I absolutely love the Kill Bill movies, especially the second, but I can understand why a lot of people don't.

But what's with all the bashing on Donnie Darko, Memento, Eternal Sunshine, and especially Blade Runner? Those are great movies. I also thought I Heart Huckabees was terrible the first time I saw it (for similar reasons), but after a second viewing I completely changed my opinion and rather liked it.

I truly enjoy them. Seen them all and the extended versions on multiple occasions. I guess it's becuase i loved the books (sure they're different from the books, but it's what we have). I also loved the locations, i mean Hobbiton would be an awesome place to live.

I just love fantasy too, wizards, magical rings, knights, hobbits and all that.

LOTR FTMFW :D

I agree it had great special FX and fantastic locations.
I haven't read the books. I guess my reasons for not liking LOTR is because they were too long, slow and because i don't like the fantasy genre in general. Silly Saruman and his army of Mordor, heh, just nuke the bastard and be over with it:P .

As for Memento, I've seen this movie and I for one liked it. It was a bit too sad for my liking but overall a good movie.

Kill Bill 1&2 Bleah... I honestly don't understand why people like Tarantino so much.

Kill Bill 1 (enjoyed the second more...)
Any of those films like "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" or "Hero" - Hate all that flying about the place crap...and running along trees! It just bugs me!!!

Maybe Kill Bill would've been better if Tarantino himself was staring in it and not Truman:cheese: .

Let's see what other movies:
-Training Day
-Chronicles of Narnia

I didn't think Donnie Darko was a bad movies by any means. Just before hand everyone was banging on about how I should see it because It was amazing, I saw it and it was simply meh.

i despise Star Wars - what people see in the movies is beyond me
and I'm smart :(

Lord of the Rings were epic.

Truly some of the greatest films ever made.

The godfather bored me too.

You liked the '89 Batman?

I really can't understand anyone who doesn't. Tim Burton at his best and Jack Nicholson as the Joker. It absolutely shits all over Forever (and, imo, is better than Begins)

I agree with who ever said Eternal Sunshine (intellectual romance my arse - more a waffly fart of a movie) and Old Boy (which was good untill the disappointing conclusion and loses points for being sick for sickness sake)

Saving Private Ryan - The story/plot (although based loosely on a real event) was ridiculous and the characters were wooden - I didn't like or dislike any of them. A war movie about people I couldn't give a crap about going on a mission that was just plain stupid.

It lacks everything that makes Band of Brothers so damn good.

Here in Boston, EVERYBODY loves the Boondock Saints. I can't deal with it. They're not horrible, they have good bits, but they're so much more "meh" than everyone thinks.

That's because everyone here in Boston wishes they were the cigarette smoking, religious, irish face punchers with attitude and style. The truth is, none of them are.

Anyway, my vote goes for all star wars movies and requiem for a dream. while it is not the worst movie ever made, it is absolutely by far my most hated movie.

You were right about the old batman, but you cannot be serious about this SPR and BoB thing. Do you realize that Band of Brothers wouldn't be around if it weren't for Saving Private Ryan? Tom Hanks directed and produced that show, if I recall correctly. They use the same film stock, that same washed out grainy look, and yes, they even overuse that god awful shaky cam. Band of Brothers is a boring version of Saving Private Ryan.

Star Wars episode 4 (never scene 5 or 6)
1: It seemed rushed
2: I hate the entire "Farmer becomes hero and defeats bad guy in 3 days" story arc system.

Luke wasn't just a farmer. He was a pilot that flew all the time on Tatooiene, bulls-eyeing womprats with a T-16.

I have a hard time disliking movies.

The only one that comes to mind recently is "The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou". I didn't care for it unlike a lot of the other people who I saw it with.
I guess another one would be zoolander.

Spiderman

Yeah I didn't really like the first Spiderman movie, never even bothered to watch the second.

Didn't particularly care for Lord of the Rings. I also didn't really like Napoleon Dynamite, but I watched it alone and my sister says it's one of those films you should watch with other people around. My roommate refused to watch it because she said she knew this guy in high school who acted a lot like Napoleon and couldn't stand him.

I liked Shaun of the Dead, but the last part where they were in the bar did start to drag on a bit.

I didn't like Bourne Identity that much either.

But you play (and are posting on a forum about) a game where a scientist becomes a hero and defeats a bad guy in exactly three days. :/

Movies I didn't like that other people do:

Zoolander. I don't know why people laugh at this, or even why it got a place on the list of the top comedy movies of all time. I thought it was absolute garbage and was the most unfunny time I've had in my life.

Lord of the Rings 2 and 3. First one was very good, in my opinion. I enjoyed the movie even though I hate Lord of the Rings (the books) with a passion; I'd burn them if I wasn't a lover of books. Movies 2 and 3 made me feel the same way as I feel about the books...I'd like to stick their DVDs in the microwave.

Kill Bill Part 1. Crap.

Bond movies. I can't sit through them. Any of them. They're not even entertaining or exciting; a few of them have even put me to sleep. The best thing about the Bond movies are the intro songs...I'll watch the songs when the movies are on TV, then I'll just turn the rest of it off.

Star Wars episode 4 (never scene 5 or 6)
1: It seemed rushed

It WAS rushed. Ever seen Empire of Dreams? Lucas literally almost died making the movie from being overstressed. If you ever get a chance to watch the cut of Episode IV before it was put out as it is, do it, it'll make you appreciate it all the more.

Yeah i know. Its not a bad film, but its not as outrageously good as everyone makes it out to be.

also, Steve Zizzou and Rushmore. They're not bad films. Not hilarious by any means.

You're taste is absolutely atrocious.

i'll make sure to see the movies you hate cause my taste is the antithesis of yours.

Shaun - alright film

Spiderman - loved that movie

Bourne Identity: awesome film. ok, the second had some problems, but the first was bloody brilliant.

ok, i can understand why some people don't really get Darko, but Eternal sunshine or memento? those were some of the most brilliant pieces of filmmaking i've ever seen.

dfc05, and thebleeding you guys have bad taste in movies. period.

seriously, dfc05, give me some of your favorite films. i'm curious. it's probably something like The Adventures of Mary-Kate and Ashley: The Case of the Christmas Caper.

you'd probably also hate one of my favorite films ever: Amelie.

Mars Attacks! - lots of people really seem to enjoy this movie. boring.

Pirates of the Carribean 2. I don't understand why people like this movie.

I loved TLA! "You amateurs! You forgot your dog!"

Pirates of the Carribean 2. I don't understand why people like this movie.

Two words: Keira. Knightley.

This thread makes me want to kill everyone. I liked just about every movie you guys mentioned.

Especially boondock saints, lotr, star wars, and donnie darko.

I think you guys just dont like them because a lot of other people do. Some of my friends are like that. I know someone who hates Napolean Dynamite and Anchorman... and has never seen it. You guys may have seen it, but hate it for the same reason. You dont need to be a non-conformist to be cool guys... its ok, i forgive you.

But I will say, I didnt much like Narnia. The Computer animation was good... but thats about it.

You do realize that you liking the movies everyone else hated is the point of this thread...

I liked Boondock Saints. Suck my nuts.

Star Wars is boring.

Sin City - Just hate everything about it.

Donnie Darko - There's one kid I know who claims it the best made movie ever. Wtf.
