Multiplayer - When?

When are you guys up for playing multiplayer with each other?

We have about 30 people on our list, so if everybody is on and wants to play, we'll have to split between two games quite likely.


I just want to know, when you guys feel you'll be up for multiplayer fooling around.

Some will want to play singleplayer first, some will want to at least do a few missions. Some will want to get a game launched right off the bat and start freeroaming.


Discuss what you'd like, and we'll see just how many people want to play multiplayer and when.

Also of note is that on launch, despite Microsoft basically doubling their server strength, there might be problems, so that's something to take into consideration too.
 
I'll be up for free roaming on multiplayer after at least starting the story. I'll guess around 5 or 6ish EST if all goes as planned.
 
I'd like to do a couple missions first, but if the majority of HL2.netters want to go straight into multiplayer, I would gladly go ahead and join. I can't wait.

Well, I don't plan on sleeping tomorrow night to Tuesday morning, but we'll see. Either way, I doubt I'd want to do multiplayer for a day or two.
 
You guys will have to let me join in on the fun... because I'll be <sniff> I won't get it until late tuesday night.

No really, I can't wait to play with everyone. As soon as I'm done with the first mission, Amish, we shall play MP.

As long as it's not region locked like has been rumoured, I'd probably be up for a bit in the first couple days of release. Probably be laggy as ass, but I come for the game and stay for the witty banter. ;)
 
i say we get a game going at around 5-6 EST
 
Assuming I actually get my copy on Tuesday as planned, Tuesday night 8+ (GMT).

Probably sometime mid-Tuesday, after I've had several hours to flesh out the single player story.
 
Uhg, I don't want to be the lameo guy who misses out on all the fun because he wants to get his bearings in single player first. So whenever you guys start a game, don't forget 'ol Qonfused (as if you could) and throw me an invite.
 
I'm really looking forward to GTA4...didn't reserve a copy though. Hopefully gamestop will have leftovers...they sure as hell had alot of Halo 3 left over.

My statement would mimic the above so there's no point in saying it.
 
Alright. I'll probably be spending about an hour after I get it getting used to the controls and doing the first few missions. After that, I want to organize a 16 person free roam game to explore the city together. Why explore in single player when you can explore with a friend? Then we can share our lulz and discoveries with each other. Sound good?

Just watching these multiplayer videos on IGN makes me lul, so I cannot imagine how much I will be laughing tonight. Seriously. My ribs hurt just from thinking about it. It just seems like the perfect "lul" game. Random shit going on all the time; a helicopter just dive bombing people; cars coming out of no where to lay you out.

**** I can't wait.

An hour? Nuts to that. By all means, do a few missions, but you can get used to controls in our free-roam :P

I don't know how many people are planning on jumping straight into multiplayer though. I think a lot of people here are going to hold off until they put a dent into the story.
 
Well in that case, bring on the free roam. If there's only a handful of HL2.netters, like 7-8, it'd be perfect... :D

Whatever the case, we'll make it work.

After some free-roaming and King Kong I demand we play Cops n Crooks :)

I've been waiting for this mode for so long.
 
This is true. I can see a HL2.net multiplayer fest coming upon us.
 
I'll probably be playing with a bunch of close mates from college tonight, but this weekend, when my coursework is dusted off, I'm up for a solid three day weekender of HL2 GTA for sure. :D :D :D
 
I'm going to be late to the party by a few days, but I'll be watching for multi games once I get it.
 
So I'm gonna set a time... 1am EST for the multiplayer. That lets everyone get home and dick around with the first few missions.
 
I don't know if I have a ride home from the mall. I could be stuck walking home for an hour, and not get back until 2am :(
 
The awesome thing about this game, is that we'll probably eventually have games going all the time, and everybody will be able to get in on the fun. I know I will be playing constantly. :)


Oh and Qonfused, I think your friends will have to sit by the wayside, HL2.net first :D
