It sure is . Especially when you get to play it for yourself and realise just how big the game is and how much stuff there is to do. Each zone is like a totally different game...wherever you start (dependant on race) is perfect for that race. Like if you was human you start around castles and guards that look like guards you'd have around the time the game was set in, and the colours used throughout the human starting area just...feel so right for the class. Then theres the undead area...its dull, tree's have no life in them, everything seems just 'dead' around the zones and again, its perfect for that class.

The game is just so well thought out, and well made everything just fits together perfectly. Nothing seems out of place in the world of WoW, which is one reason its scored 94% on gamespot and the highest ever review for an MMO. Seriously, if you have the time its worth taking a look at it.

seroulsly, i was so suprised when playing the open beta for the first time.

i had played SWG, and that was buggy like hell... not to mention the graphics were crap. and it had been out for a few months allready... then comes along WOW, and it is so smooth its practically a ball bearing. everything is sublime and the enviroments were great. and it wasnt finished. blizzard put SOE to shame. not to mention the fact that SOE nicked £20 from my credit card...

Damn I want to play WoW...but with classes and work...I just don't have the time or money to make it worth it.

I was in the stress test and had a blast. I started getting a bit bored near the end because being a Warlock...I didn't have any talents yet and that bugged the hell out of me. Meanwhile my friend was whooping ass with his Warrior. He made it into the closed beta and got max level before the beta ended

I'm so pissed off right now, I ordered a copy of WoW US from importmadness.com (STAY AWAY from them!) on the 24th, it supposedly shipped on the 25th... yesterday I convinced a long friend of mine to drop EQ1 to join me on WoW, so we look for an online retailer for him since the one I used was out of stock. And he got his copy today! Almost in under twenty four hours... I can't believe it, and he's coming over tomorrow with the game to rub it in my face and laugh at me. :x

Why is everyone comparing HL2 and WoW, they're completely different games and provide completely different experiences while playing them. An FPS will never have as much content as an MMORPG and you shouldn't expect one to, understand?

Anyway, I probably will get WoW, I'm going to try to get into the European open beta, not sure when it starts though.

I don't think there will be sign-up's for the EU beta because it isn't an Open Beta, they are calling it a Final Beta. Only pre-orderers and closed beta testers will be able to get into it i think.

hm, so if you place a pre-order you get your CD-Key early or something? I'm not sure how they're going to work that one.

Even comparing an MMORPG with an FPS on a value for money basis is an exercise in futility since you pay a monthly subscription to an MMORPG so for instance if you play an MMORPG for 7 or 8 months you might find in the last couple of months it gets a bit boring and you wish you'd cancelled before you spent the $30 you're likely to think the MMORPG was bad value for money in that respect. Getting an FPS is a one off thing, you think it was either good or bad value for money there and then.

You can't compare FPS's and MMORPG's in any respect I think.

Nah Dedalus you don't get any CD's with the pre-order pack except for a CD containing the music tracks from WoW. It says in small print *2gb~ download is required* so without a fast connection you can't realistictly play the final beta.

Yeah Suicide..the game will have a different CD-key to beta. Good luck getting a CE on release day without pre-ordering it man Shops will have them but i can't see any shops having more than they've had pre-ordered really.

Mortiz, MMO's can get boring but they still have better value for money...take HL2 for example, you can complete it in under 1 day on its hardest difficulty. Is that really a £30 well spent? is that really 6 years work?. WoW for example has a smaller dev team than HL2 had and they managed to push out WoW in 4 years with less bugs than HL2 (and for an MMO that is something special) and just a few sections in WoW has more things to do than the whole of HL2. Anyway if i had a choice between my favourite FPS (FarCry) and WoW i'd pick WoW over FarCry any day of the week. WoW is leaps and bounds infront of 'the best' PC games.

I've decided i will get this game and play it for a month or so.. and see how it goes. It is a very decent game, i dont like commiting myself to direct debits and that sort of thing though.
I'll preorder it asap. It is out in febuary though... long wait.

i suggest not to get into mmorpg's. i used to paly one called dark age of camelot and i hated my self when i found out how long i played. i spent one month about 30 days 22 hours, on one character playing. and i have alot of characters. ull get hooked.

Want to have people worship the ground you walk on when you are in a group/raid? Be a priest. Sure you lack in damage, but people really appreciate being healed and resurrected.

I just went through a 4 hour instance (levels 22-25). I'm a paladin (which has some healing spells). We were getting slaughtered so I switch my focus from tank/offensive to healing. Man, not only did we do good, but they kept on thanking me because the only reason we completed the instance (two quests - for a good ring, and a bunch of silver) was for my healing spell. I had a blast.

Haha, yeah... there really needs to be more priests... to give me Power Word Stamina and keep me alive in the rare cases I actually get low health. Especially on Horde side... which it sounds like you'll be playing... definitely made the right choice there.
