You mean the Onyxia raid video? You can find it on http://en.wow-europe.com/ about 1/3 down the page, it made me want to play the game even more to see 30 people get wasted of one dragon (which was big!) and this video they only got the dragon down about 1/12 of its HP by the looks of it. I like how there is mobs that are impossible to kill solo or just a priest+attacker. I wonder what the hell it drops though. :O

Rogue's are good, i've been testing out an Undead Rogue (hes only level 7 or 8) but i'm not sure about if they are a good teaming class but i know they can duel wield at level 20 and supposedly they are one of the hardest classes in attacking. They can wear mail armour at level 40 too. I'm still gunna play a paladin at first though mainly because i got my paladin to level 22 in US OB and found them really fun and the best solo class. I like to group as little as possible.
 
actually they got it down to 65% health :)

by the way, what side are you guys gonna be on? when the EU comes out, im going to be TEH EVVVILLLL undead warlock.

so, horde or alliance?
 
Nah its not the same one i've seen then. Looky at attachment, no way is that 65% dead :p

Edit/ I've decided to be a Dwarf Paladin, so alliance. My next character after that will be an Undead Rogue/Mage or an Orc Shaman..there the only classes i've tested out so far and i love them all, except i've tested a Warrior and don't really like them...i think Paladin's are better to play than a Warrior. Edit2/ Infact i have'nt even played a Mage, i just know i'll like them being the biggest damage dealing class, you can't go wrong.

I have to correct two things:

- Rogues get dual wield at lvl 10
- They cannot wear mail at lvl 40, shamans and hunters get that ability at lvl 40

And i'l be going Alliance, i was a gnome in the open beta... all the running around across the map bored me to hell though, so il probably be a human rogue this time and not a gnome.

anyhoo, in final beta i reckon i'll either be a tauren warrior, gnome mage, or human paladin. i know in retail i'm definitely creating a human paladin as my primary char, so i think i'll try something different in the beta.

Is the pet from getting the CE edition, going to actually do anything in game other than follow you around, is it another gameplay feature?
 
It just follows you around... like all other pets. I have a cockatiel! :O

all other pets require feeding, and not all other pets just follow you around some are used to fight :)

Yeah, I wasn't talking about class pets... warlocks/hunters... just the regular ones.... the ones that follow you around, don't fight, and don't need feeding...

I was lucky enough to pre-order the CE from Gameplay and i've not recieved my pack yet either. There is a thread on the Gameplay forums about it, here, basically they have not recieved the packs from Blizzard/Vivendi yet but they seem positive they will send them out before the beta starts ... which is nice.

i have a job.. it pays decently...but the problem is life :p
damn thing gets in the way and i end up having to pay for food, rent, clothes and other useless crap and generally have very little money left :(

Suicide, whats with this Preorder pack? do you get it with the standard copy or just CE and do they charge you postage twice or something?... im confused.

Have you met anybody who disliked WoW? Has anybody given anything less than a stellar review of it yet? I don't think so. If so, they are a part of a really small minority.
 
I've never tried mmorpg's either. My gaming 'career' started with doom2, a fps, and i haven't looked back since.. I'm addicted to first person shooters. I could never get into RTS type games or mmorpgs. You just dont get that instant gratification in rts's/mmorpg's that you do in the fragfest of a fps.

and WoW is looking increasingly like it'll be my first mmorpg. But I'm just not sure I'll be able to 'get into it' being such a fps fanboy. I guess ill just have to keep an open mind.

Brains? Heh, speak for yourself. I don't know if you've noticed but World of Warcraft (yes the MMORPG you speak of) has broken records for the PC accross all platforms. Go tell the 240'000+ people that bought WoW on 1st day how bad a game it is....i'm quite sure 95% of the 240'000 will tell you to shut up and stop being so anti-MMORPG when you probably have never even played an MMORPG in your life. Your just a tight fisted git who does'nt appreciate a good game when its looking you in the face.

Oh yeah and thats broken records and its only out in 3 country's.

One of the first real games i played was Doom, way back in the day of the Jaguar64 (the one with controller capable of opertating a space shuttle) and my pentium90 PC but, if you've never tried an MMORPG how do you know they don't have an instant gratification? :p...you can't compare a RTS to an MMORPG, infact, you can't compare a RPG to an MMORPG. ;) MMORPG's are way out of the other genre's league if made properly and WoW is the first of its kind to show what a game is all about. Anyway its your choice if you want to try it or not...I think you'd be stupid not to at least buy the game and play it for a month just to see what all the fuss is about.
 
part of the addictiveness of MMO's is the pvp. once you level up, and there's nothing much else to do in terms of mobs and quests, you turn to pvp (player versus player). and it's so much fun. that's your instant gratification right there. there's so much more going on in the game world too. you can buy/sell things on an eBay style auction house, gather resources and build things which you can use or sell on (how about building a nice little exploding squirrel? no seriously, it exists), form raid groups and have an all out war with the other side. so much going on, it's worth playing for a while, especially WoW since it's so friendly towards MMO virgins.


related note, is anyone else stressing about this pre-order kit? i dunno what the hell is going on. getting mixed stories from all over the place. Alig, the CE we pre-ordered from gamelpay through that link you gave me...that will entitle me to the pre-order kit right? i'm confused about this :eek:

hey dedalus, you do know the only thing you get in the pre order kit is the soundtrack (that comes with the CE anyway so im not sure if they'll send it to you) and the key for the beta. they DON'T give you a beta disc, you need to DL the beta yourself, as it said when you ordered the game. so technically the only thing they need to send you is the key.. which they could do through email. i, however, was not fast enough to get the CE (due to vivendi not making enough copies so it sells out :flame: ) so i am eagerly anticipating my soundtrack disc. its little compensation seeing as my had my heart set on that artbook...

yeah, but a lot of people are giving out mixed messages about who is entitled to the pre-order kit. apparently some retailers in europe sold the game in the wrong way, and now there are people who pre-ordered a copy of the game, but will now not be receiving the pre-order kit because blizzard wasn't allowing them to sell it in the first place. confusing stuff..just want to know if i'll get the beta key or not :/

btw, if i don't like the artbook, i'll sell it to you ;)

I've give up thinking about when its gunna come now, i could do with it not coming for a while now, what with my new job and that, i need to concentrate and get early nights in and get in my bosses good books so when i'm late from playing WoW till 4am or looking rough from playing WoW till 4am he won't go mad. Got it all planned out man... :D

The rest of europe are ****ing idiots allowing people to pre-order a pre-order, so now they have the problem of them not getting as many pre-order packs as they hoped for. Idiotic if you ask me, however, Gameplay didn't start to take pre-orders till the 26th and both me and you ordered on the 26th so we'll be getting one for sure, if not because gameplay are teamed with Blizzard for this but because we have CE on order and i think we should be top priority. :p :LOL:

this game is incredible

my first ever mmorpg(owned) and im lovin every minute of it... so addicted
anyways, id recommend it to anyone thats a fan of the rpg genre

cool cool. i'm just getting impatient i guess. reading both US and EU forums and hunting down every last video and blog i can find :eek: man i'm gonna be hooked on this game for 6 months solid when i get my grubby little hands on it :E
