MW2 - Special Edition :S

I'm seriously thinking is some sort of joke...

Wonder how much it'll be. Always wanted a pair of NVG's.

Oh my god, They have just secured the dogging market!

Pro-tip, don't buy it for the NVGs, those are obviously first-generation nightvision goggles, in other words, craptacular, f*ck not even hunters etc use'em these days because they're so worthless by modern standards.

true NVc cost over $2000 GENERATION- III type.

this is either GEN - I which cost between $500-900 or

uses fake LED light to produce the green effect at a short distance.

Prolly just green light, make a ping noise.

I'll stick with the basic copy, no need for fake NVGs with MW2 shit all over em

I keep thinking when people say MW2 is means Morrowind 2.

Disappoint every time.

yeah I'll pass but one of the best collectors editions I got for my Birthday last year was the Fallout 3 CE.

Fallout3_sp1.jpg

The lunch box and bobble head are amazing.

I've only ever got one collectors edition and it was MK vs. DCU, I got for Christmas.

Im getting this bad boy for sure! One of the best collectors editions....Beats GTA4 and Fallout 3.

that's ridiculous
sadly, there are people out there willing to pay for it

i like the F3 package though

It's so hilariously over the top to include actual night vision goggles and a model of "Soap" McTavish's head. I'm glad they decided to take it the nearly farcical proportions. Eat it, Bungie/Microsoft, your "Legendary" Halo 3 has nothing on this. Corporate e-peening wins again.

I don't get collectors editions, I've yet to see one be worth anything and it's not like you can proudly display them considering they are almost always bits of molded plastic and some tin.

Maybe they're like NV on digital cameras, with a UV flashlight and a screen that displays UV light?

No way these things are going to be any good. $10 says they break/die after a week or they can't see any further than 10 ft...

Of course they suck. Activision has proven that they are all about profit. Why include something they actually costs a lot to produce when you'd make more money by focusing exclusively on aesthetics?

A publicly traded corporate powerhouse parented by what is possibly the world's largest media conglomerate cares about money? Somebody alert the internet.

Which media conglomerate is that?

i got the Resistance 2 CE for the same price just one week after the game came out on Amazon.com, so sometimes Collectors Editions are worth it. Also got the Saints Row 2 CE for $40 at Christmas on amazon as well

I didn't know they were the worlds largest media conglomerate.

Holy crap, just read about'em, I always thought Vivendi was just a game publishing and developing company!

Boy was I wrong.

I love artbooks so much, I'll get that semi-precious edition.
Oh, and the goggles…they do nothing!

Last time I bought a special edition of something was HL2: Gold, which was an excellent deal, but I don't see who would spend 3x as much money for that extra worthless crap... other than kids whose parents are buying it for them.

What the hell kind of nightvision goggles can you can get for less than $150? It's probably some green tinted plastic lit with an LED that you look through.

Actually I was just thinking, what about COD united offensive? Will that ever get released on XBLA/PSN?

An art book for a modern day military shooter? I imagine the art book is just like "Heres the models you can see in the game already! Oh and look at this reference image I found on google! That concludes the content of this art book, hope you enjoyed paying extra money for seeing things you've seen a hundred million times already!"

qft

It's just gonna be a bunch of gun-nut wankery with some shit like "guns go boom" written

Except Activision has done no service to gamers at all in recent years, as they've become the new sequel kings. At least EA has been taking risks by trying new things, and even gave Brutal Legend a new life when Activision said no thanks. Then, to top things off, they go and sue Double Fine to try and block the release.

The environmental/level design would be interesting, though that's just my preference towards nicely designed drawings and mood/atmosphere pieces, but yeah I can't imagine the rest of it being to interesting.
