My beef with the world.

Good point.
I consider it in a way similair to the "Put a *whatever* in front of your MSN name in respect of the people that died in the London bobms" I refused point blank to about 40 people to put a rose on, it was bloody ridiculous, i gave my share to help agencies, but i didnt overblow it completly. Same case here, i cant see how someone ranting on a forum (Ironic of me to say that  ) will make any difference

you may not see it but it does make a difference ...people may not listen to the entire argument but at least it gets them thinking, maybe it makes them do the research themselves, maybe it doesnt do anything but reinforce their own beliefs ...but it does something

Yeah, i suppose.
BTW good find Baxter

The world does give a shit, but it also trusts that America can handle this mostly without everyone else doing what they did for the tsunami. I'm going to donate about $20ish tonigt, and I'm sure many others will do the same.

where was your humanity then? if I recall correctly many right wingers tried to justify it. I'm not saying you were one of them ..all I'm saying is that it's easy to point fingers ...not so easy when the finger is pointing at you

CptStern, I missed you quoting me referring to Iraqis the same manner Llama was to Americans. Yes, I see you say "I'm not saying you were one of them" but the implication is there.

If you want to pull out different shoes to see if they fit me then we can go round and round all day and have all kinds of topics to talk about. I am more than sure you will find lots of faults in me than more than satisfy your desire in pointing them out.

BTW, great post Baxter. You summed it up nicely way to stay on topic.

yes the implication is there ...but in a general sense aimed more at supporters of US foreign policy ...as I said I dont recall you supporting it

I really dont care to pick apart your faults ...again I'm concerned with the hypocrisy of some americans

Just to show you ego-bound Americans how much we care here in Finland, in the world section of the second largest paper here was a large 1 and 3/4 article about Katrina, and a small notice of about 2/8s of a page about 900 people dying in Baghdad.

See we do care.

BTW I won't donate shit. If the US can cover the costs of the Iraq war (7 bn $ a month) they sure as hell should be able to cover the costs of a Hurricane, something that HAPPENDS EVERY YEAR.

But I am American, and being a human being, I am sure I have hypocrisy. So thanks for being more concerned about me since I am an American hypocrit, than other hypocrits in the world. I realize now all the anomonisty I come across is really love and not hate.

Silly me to think nobody cared on the intarweb!

alright mr smarty pants dont be coy with me. I'm not targeting YOU because you're american but rather I'm targeting the americans who had no problem with Albright's statement ...but kudos for doing such a bang up job of avoiding the main points of my argument

Dont bother arguing Stern, you wont get anywhere

We already sent humanitarian aid and fuel to USA. USA will probably thank us with another death threat to our president, isn’t this a wonderful world? :D

Yeah our news casts were all about Katrina and then a little blurb on the 6PM news about that in Iraq. :\

I hate america...

I despise civilization in general. Well, the lack of unity, anyway. What centuries of religious and cultural brainwashing can to do separate mankind from their counterparts, is amazing.

I think George Orwell was right when he said "If you want a look into the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face-forever". The mutterings of an undeniable pessimist, but sometimes pessimism makes you see things you don't want to see.
