hahaha, this thread is funny, why the hell would you grass a friend up for having a copy of the game, yes he should have bought it, yes valve deserve the money, but ffs, he is a friend. I suppose all the people saying to grass him or whatever dont have any illegal mp3`s ? and an original windows/photoshop/(insert expensive software here) ??? I bought my hl2 as (a) it deserves to be bought to support the best game developer out there (b) I like the mods to much to be messing around with warez patches (c) because I can afford to buy it. I knew this guy who knew this other guy we call Sasquatch that he was going to get some 'mega cheats for Diablo 2 and use a stolen CD-Key'. I then told my friend "*censored*, I think you should connect your fist in a violent motion into his face. Blizzard loses alot of money from that kinda activity and should stop"...

If this guy has pirated the game (and by that you mean has an illegitimate copy) then Valve aren't losing out IMO, he wouldn't pay for copy, we know that cause it's quite hard to get around the security stuff, so what if he's playing it? it'll crash out and he'll have to make do with the other things that go wrong with that sort of stuff.

I say tell him you think HL2 is worth the money you'd pay (not like £800 or whatever for some software you'll never use) and if he says to stuffit find a new friend

Seriously, you should just tell him how good the game is. You have to convince him that it deserves to be bought, it's not just any ordinary game. Tell him that he'll never have to wait for each Steam update to be cracked in order to play again. Steam releases updates quite frequently, so it won't annoy him anymore when he wants to play.

As, out of the two of you, he cracks and you don't, logically, HL3 will cost you twice as much as it otherwise would, so extract the cash from him, by force if required.

To all you "Anti-rats" - You may think that ratting out is wrong and that people who think differentley are evil. Perhaps you think you will beat a ratter up given the chance. Well, I think people take responsibility for their own actions, and as crackers cost me money (See above) I am in the right to "rat them". So come on down and "beat me up". I could do with a laugh.
