If someone brought sea into your house, your mother would feel like she is living in hell.

Rammstein are the German Industrial personification of Hell :D

Awesome band.

I agree with your mom - listening to their music is punishment for the ears

How dare you insult one of my favourite bands:flame:

And my mom doesn't like the band either, but who cares my dad loves em:cheese:

You should tell your mom they can't be bad because they're from Germany and no one German has done anything bad.

Yeah ... if they were Austrian it would be completely banned.

Rammstein is like a white puss that would fire from your anus if you got some kind of odd jungle disease

basically, they suck

did you reply with a "ya so?, would you rather I listened to heavenly music? both types are based on fairy tales meant to frighten little children ..so what's the big deal?"

disclaimer: Stern is in no way responsible should your mother decide to bitch slap you for being so cheeky/rude/honest

Heh, they're pretty good i must say

So what if you can't understand them, they sing in German

DUNNNGADUNNNGAAA DUNNNGAAADUNNNGAAA DURN A DURN DUNGADUNGA DURN A DURN DUURRRRRRRNNN DUNGA DAAANNNGGG

(I like them!)

My mother occasionally calls IDM music devil music. I rarely use my speakers now.

Rammestein aren't awful.

I rather like them.

I like them, catchy music really. My mum doesn't give two shits about what music I play, except in some cases where she comments that it's "scary".

Lol... i hate ppl that think that Rammstein is the be-all and end-all of German industrial rock/metal.

Ever heard of Oomph!, Eisbrecher, Megaherz or Schmerz?

Basically, wake the **** up.

I've heard Eisbrecher and Megaherz. Rammstein is better.

That's cool mate, everyone has their own opinion... even if they're wrong.

Same style, just different sub-genres of German industrial metal.

Eisbrecher is more metal/electronic.
Megaherz hints dark alternative rock.
Oomph! sways towards electronic, but also has metal/industrial tendencies;
and Schmerz is a band that kicks teh hard-core metal ass.

Speaking of which, Oomph!+Megaherz inspired Rammstein's playing/performing style.

Big up's to Oomph!

Rammstein owns your cat.

Edit: Why would you even think that a regular Mum would like Rammstein?

It's pretty damn hard for an opinion to be "wrong", unless of course someone likes St. Anger.

Oomph? Yes, Rammstein has said Oomph is one of their inspirations. Megaherz? Got a source for that?

Anyway, Dero's voice annoys me.

And if that weren't enough, you're still probably the most annoying person to join this forum in the past 2 years...aside from kng of course, so your opinion is moot.

I didn't, she likes to walk into my computer room and then spout off annoying crap like that. Dunno why :-\

I don't mind them. I have a few songs, all of which are really good. Mostly the famous one, but I had one from the Resident Evil soundtrack that was really fuppin' good. Where should I start, album wise?

My personal favorite is Mutter. It contains Feuer Frei! (which I believe is the song on the RE soundtrack), Mutter (excellent slow song), Sonne (awesome song...epic feel to it), Mein Herz Brennt (personal favorite Rammstein song), and Ich Will (the live versions are better than the album version, which also rocks)

Reise Reise is my second favorite, while Rosenrot is their newest. Rosenrot has a few good tracks but the rest seems like filler (makes sense because all Rosenrot is are tracks they felt detracted from or couldn't fit on Reise Reise)

That leaves Sehnsucht and Herzeleid. I'm not a fan of Sehnsucht but Herzeleid has some awesome songs (namely Du Riechst so Gut, Rammstein, and Heirate Mich (creepy song with disturbing lyrics, hence, it owns))

Feuer Frei is on the xXx soundtrack/movie, I mean a different song, I think it might be an older one. Damnit. But the songs I have all seem to be from Mutter, so I think I'll try and aquire that somehow. :) Thanks.

Ah, wikipedia is my friend. The two RE soundtracks that Rammstein have appeared on are RE and RE:A, with "Hallelujah" and "Mein Teil" respectively.

Check out Sensucht, it remains as my favorite album from them. After that I think you'll appreciate the rest of their stuff. I'm not sure but i think Hallelujah and Feuerrader are not included in albums, though they're good places to start too.

WOOT! Go me.

I deserve an infraction...

...where is teh banimal when u need him?

I never have any idea what they're singing, but when I'm in the mood for Ramnstein, throaty deathgrowls it is.

They make some cheesily bad-ass sounding songs.

I've heard Eisbrecher and Megaherz. Rammstein is better.

Truth, although Megaherz isn't bad either.

Rammstein rock the goddamn house, but they aren't anywhere near as hellish as mom is hyping them up to be.
Really, they're rather popish for industrial metal with controversial lyrics.
I mean, they may be german, but they aren't so angry that they're coughing up blood from screaming too hard. Most of their songs are actually quite lyrical.
Especially their latest stuff with the smarter lyrics, which kicks much more ass.

I wouldn't blame folks for disliking them after hearing Du Hast one too many times. Their old stuff was innovative, but it gets old quick.
